you should be able to change your comment with a push of a button; this can help reduce spam and many pages of replies in a thread, since if someone wants to add something all they have to do is go to another one of their replies and push a button, they can change their comment as they see fit.
The idea of an edit option is something that has been brought up many times before. We have considered it, but it is not something that we plan on adding soon, if at all. I personally would prefer a preview option, as opposed to an edit option. This way, people cannot go back and change their comments, so accountability is still there, but they have an extra chance to review what they have written before submitting, to make sure that all of their coding and spelling is correct.
Then why hasn't the Preview option been available yet? Will it ever be created. I'd much rather prefer that over an Edit button if it meant less work and coding for the busy bodies over at Development.
On topic, I've seen edit buttons work in other forums... If it has a 'Last edited: *time/date* Edit reason: *reason*' attached. But I don't know if ArmorGames need it. The preview is possibly a good idea, but it wouldn't work against the ninjas (being ninja'd is the most frequent reason for my double posts - that and typos).
I would like the preview button, tons. My typing isn't the best sometimes, especially since the only time I can find to post here on the forums is at night when I'm tired. It would save me a lot of double posts, and thus a lot of spam, if my comments weren't posted immediately upon clicking.
A preview button would be very nice. I agree that while the edit button would be nice also, it could create a problem for posts such as forum games, and if people go around spamming they could say, "0h i'z n3v3r d1d 7h@+z!"
Ah, misremembered. I've read the About a couple of times... So, Shpigford is site developer, John is game developer, and DanielMcNeely the guy who started it all? ... This is a bit too close to a spam/off topic post... Sorry.
I almost next to never use the preview button. I don't know why, but I just don't. Personally, I would love an edit button, but if it doesn't suit what you want, I won't complain.
