Hi ALl,

Don't be alarmed, but Swiss and French Scientists, along with Steven Hawkins and other great minds are going to do an experiment in 90 minutes, at 3am New York Time.

This experiment may create a Black Hole which will swallow up the world...

Oh, If you want some proof:

" Professor Taylor says the experiment's opponents are completely misguided in their stance.

''One of the things we are trying to do is create mini-black holes which scientifically would be a magnificent thing and tell us we don't live in three dimensions, but that we live in nine or 10 dimensions,'' Professor Taylor said.

''As soon as you say there is the possibility of creating black holes, you have people saying we are going to be swallowed up by black holes.

''That's where the furore has come and it's completely misguided.''

it sounds neat, but if they're creating black holes, how will they stop the black holes? will they just always be there?

It won't happen.

There's a 1 in a trillion chance of anything like this happening.

We're not sure, we don't KNOW how to make Black Holes, we've never done it, so it probably won't happen.

But we'll see in 30 minutes.

well, they seem pretty confident that they can do it, but if it happens, can the black holes be destroyed? and if they can't, can they get bigger, or will they just always stay the same size?

Even a small black hole can suck up the Planet.

As far as we know, sending a missile at it could help. XD

But, seriously, I don't know, probably not.

Bigger? Probably not, they're not Solid, they're just basically an Entity / Teleport (supposedly) to another place.

I just thought I might make a list of things that are more likely to happen then the LHC destroying the world.

You're more likely to:
Be struck by lightning
Win the lottery
Date a supermodel
Winning an Olympic metal
Bowling 300
Become a saint
Get a royal flush
Spotting a UFO today
Dying from contact with hot tap water
Dying from parts of a falling plane

This is of course an incomplete list as to list everything that is more likely to happen I'd probably have to spend the rest of my life writing, hope this puts things in perspective a little bit.

On a more serious note (missed the two posts above mine) the black holes that would be created are the kind that are so small they're inherently destable and would vanish before we could see them. Less energy then it takes to power a bulb in each one. The only way they could get bigger is by adding tons of energy/mass and there's not enough on the entire planet to make a stable black hole.

Fall over a Crack and Break your Neck,
Tree falling onto you,
Being Eaten by Blood-Thirsty Moths,
Zombies eat your Brains,
You trip over your Toe and fall on neatly placed Bombs.

I could add more, but that's for someone else to do.

@SuperzMcShort
I've gotten a Royal Flush. =]
