Hello and welcome!

This is a spin-off of the original GFX Art Battle, but with some updated rules and changes. Please make sure to read the rules before entering, since they have been modified. Good luck, we look forward to seeing some creative artistic entries!

Competition Rules
1. Must be hand drawn, either on paper or in a program. It can then be manipulated in an graphics program. But unoriginal artwork cannot be used as the main focus. Copyrighted images cannot be used. All pieces containing copyrighted images will be disqualified.
2. Submissions must follow the current theme that has been chosen by a moderator for that week. If you submit more than one piece, please clarify which one you would like to be judged.
3. If your image is larger than 600 pixels wide, please provide a link to the image instead of posting it in the forum. Otherwise, the image will be cut off.
4. Artists cannot win in subsequent weeks. You can still submit, but if you won the week before, you cannot get first place again the next week.
5. After the deadline, a moderator will pick the winner, and they will be awarded a 25 AP award.

Ok..because I won the last round so I felt myself obligated to make an entry...so here it comes.

So to clarify this picture a bit..does anyone remember the old game on Amiga that was called "Magic pockets"? Where the guy threw small tornadoes from his pocket and killed the monsters?

well here he is :P and the monster is quite bad 'cos I couldn't remember how those looked like...if you aren't familiar with the game so google away

C: Okay, judging time, and thanks for the trust, Bronze.
Z: Trust?
C: He said that judging would be in days. And thanks to Thoad for getting me slightly pissed.
Z: Oh. Right. Well, let's get this done, I dunno if you slept your tired away but I still have mine...

Champion's exhibit:
C: JereN
http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/821/magicce.jpg

Uhm... Should I know what that is?
Z: Only if you know the game he referenced, methinks.
C: If I go blank stare, it will be okay, right? And no, did not sleep the tired away, slept the grumpy forth...
Z: Oh great.
But nice drawing. I don't know the reference, but it seems creative and all that~
On to the actual placings~
C: Yes...

1st
Bronze

http://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss282/BronzeCAE09/Pocket.jpg

That hand is... Mm, self esteem drop, I thought it had hit the floor years ago... Anyway, a really good drawing, it has pocket, it has... Candy, was it? And an amazingly well drawn hand.
Z: It's pwetty, and the coloured/uncoloured has a nice effect on it~
C: Agreed. Perspective is good, shadows are good, anatomy is good, pocket is very good....
Z: So basically, neither of us were in any doubt with what placement it should get in the judging this round~
C: 'xactly.

This looks really good too. Simplistic, but... Pockets would be nice to live in.
Z: The background seems to stiff for the rest of the pic, but it's not too bad, and the vector based lines serve the rest of the drawing well~
C: And I just now noticed what the background were > >.... Also: Light gradient towards bottom of pocket?
Z: It's a gateway to NARNIAAAAAAAAAA!
C: Of course.

That grin is both fascinating and a bit scary... And jpg-blur is saaad.
Z: Twue. Would have looked better if the - female had gotten some more effort (or maybe just better luck when you drew it).
C: A bit one the thickness of the line, but you know the drill by now.
Z: And rest of entries?
C: Mm...
Crimson.

http://i530.photobucket.com/albums/dd349/crimsonblade55/HotPockets.png

I'm hungry...
Z: I love Sasquatch's *drool*-face!~
C: Expression in general, yes. Now I think of it, if these ideas got elaborated on a bit, Sasquatch would make a perfect web comic character.
Z: Ttly~<3
C: Would probably make Strop a bit sad, though, since his webcomic project is on hold.

Dudeguy.

http://i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac284/Wepic_in/Pitapocket.jpg

I am still hungry.
Z: I'm wondering why there's so much blank space?
C: Curse of the empty space > >....
Z: *nod* Also, the most text reliant entry of the round~
C: Yes... Though Crimson's was too. Anywho.

Owen

http://i449.photobucket.com/albums/qq211/Owen135731/Kangaroo.jpg

Just to be annoying: Marsupials was the creator of the original pockets.
Z: Sure there wasn't some sort of planty pocket before them?
C: Or air pocket *coughcough*
Z: Lol~
But anyway, uhm... Glad you entered, but the (lack of) time spent shows.
C: You will break his heart...

Goumas

http://i693.photobucket.com/albums/vv296/goumas13/pockets.jpg

... I have no idea...
Z: It's colourful, though?
C: Sadly... Colourclash > >.....
Z: A bit.
C: *nod* Onwards to the end.

Jdogg

http://i34.tinypic.com/2w1wbo4.jpg

*scratches head* Is a sheath... scabbard... thing the same as pocket? Technically, I mean?
Z: I think he mistook his pocket for his sheath.
C: Looks like he violently mistook the pocket for the sheath > >...
Z: Oh yeah. That too.
C: I don't put stuff down my pockets with such a force... Sidetrack...

HardSimse

http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu279/HardSimse/Ilovemypockets.jpg

He loves his pockets... *nods slowly*
Z: Pockets are lovely~
He might wanna be sure to not store lightningrods in them, though~
C: Gutter.
Z: Gutter?
C: As in "Where did my mind go?"... I think I am too tired for this > >....
Z: Yeah... Sorry about that, people who've gotten sleepy comments.
C: The wonders of stuff to do > >
But we are done now? Just needing a them and a deadline?
Z: Yes indeed~
What should they be?
C: Autumn and next Thursday?
Z: Sure^^
C: Not too close to months, right?
Z: Wouldn't think so~
C: Good enough.

Theme: Autumn
Deadline: Thursday 8th

Z: So bye for this round~
