This is a spin-off of the original GFX Art Battle, but with some updated rules and changes. Please make sure to read the rules before entering, since they have been modified. Good luck, we look forward to seeing some creative artistic entries!
Competition Rules 1. Must be hand drawn, either on paper or in a program. It can then be manipulated in an graphics program. But unoriginal artwork cannot be used as the main focus. Copyrighted images cannot be used. All pieces containing copyrighted images will be disqualified. 2. Submissions must follow the current theme that has been chosen by a moderator for that week. If you submit more than one piece, please clarify which one you would like to be judged. 3. If your image is larger than 600 pixels wide, please provide a link to the image instead of posting it in the forum. Otherwise, the image will be cut off. 4. Artists cannot win in subsequent weeks. You can still submit, but if you won the week before, you cannot get first place again the next week. 5. After the deadline, a moderator will pick the winner, and they will be awarded a 25 AP award.
Only if you drew it for this contest. I personally think furries can go under the wildlife theme (depending on the way they're shown) but if you drew that prior to the contest, it does not qualify~
Yes, if it was done within the last week (as entries must be done during the round itself).
Also, since you live in Australia like I do, we tend to be much further ahead than most of the other users. Therefore it will most likely be the 8th locally (for you) by the time I do the judging.
Hmm, this might be the finished product, everyone. A kudakitsune (pipe fox/ tube fox) from xxxholic. I though about drawing the little form too, but did not. I am not sure if I will keep on working at this, but for now I am just tired and ill. Kudakitsune (C) CLAMP.
coooooOOOOooool. Even though it's something from a series I've never heard of, the markings on it's head TOTALLY remind me of Okami. . . . Okami was such a pervy game. . lol.
well actually now that you mention savorath.I actually realized how the previews can be quite useful. They show that these people created them.Savorath was the one who was banned for plagairism right?Anyways the competitions keep getting tougher and tougher.I guess its all up to what the judge(currently Strop)is into most when choosing the winner.
So I can assume Savorath is a newbie who posted someone's art as their own? Whatever. I don't have to prove anything to anybody, I have the PSD files, concepts on paper, and swf animations of the game so far, so if anyone wants to be paranoid and accuse me of plagiarism, suck it.
Hm, you know, given that we have had a fair amount of trouble with this issue in the past...it might be worth making a policy of it. We should require every competitor (who doesn't use Paint) to submit original files (.xcf, .psd, .ocf etc. etc.) to the administration, or, most likely in this case, me, since I currently run this competition.
I'll bring this up and get back to you all on this around the turn of the round.
Rollie: Was that piece done within the last 6 days? That's when the round started and it is a rule of this competition that all entries must be done (a little wiggle-room on this exists) within the round...that's just an arbitrary rule for this contest specifically.
@Strop: What about traditional art??? It's really hard to submit a .psd/.xcf/.riff(Corel Painter, ha!)/.whatever filetype for those~ So That shouls be as with the Paint ones?
I'm not worried though. You all know my skills by now.
Also, I don't bother doubting that he did it within this week, but i do question whether he did it for the competition or not. Since it's for his game and such.
Ah, I remember when I first joined the GFX Battle... Ye questioned me too~
