This is a spin-off of the original GFX Art Battle, but with some updated rules and changes. Please make sure to read the rules before entering, since they have been modified. Good luck, we look forward to seeing some creative artistic entries!
Competition Rules 1. Must be hand drawn, either on paper or in a program. It can then be manipulated in an graphics program. But unoriginal artwork cannot be used as the main focus. Copyrighted images cannot be used. All pieces containing copyrighted images will be disqualified. 2. Submissions must follow the current theme that has been chosen by a moderator for that week. If you submit more than one piece, please clarify which one you would like to be judged. 3. If your image is larger than 600 pixels wide, please provide a link to the image instead of posting it in the forum. Otherwise, the image will be cut off. 4. Artists cannot win in subsequent weeks. You can still submit, but if you won the week before, you cannot get first place again the next week. 5. After the deadline, a moderator will pick the winner, and they will be awarded a 25 AP award.
Lawl thoad. Quite nice entry, actually. Though 1337 speak isn't the same as the chatspeak, and neither is the same as the lolspeak.
Normal writing: This sentence is written with decent grammar. 1337: 7|-|!5 53|\\|73|\\|(3 !5 \\/\\/|2!773|\\| \\/\\/!7|-| |)3(3|\\|7 6|24|\\/|4|2 Chat: this sntnc s writn w/ desent gramma Lol: Tiz sentanze iz wrutton wif defent grammmer.
Personally, I think 1337 is cool. It just takes forever to type.
This had to be one of the more challenging rounds I've given for the art contest, but I saw it as an opportunity to really stretch some of those internet jokes, provided one's imagination was properly harnessed. One such example would be last week's winner, Zophia, as shown in the Champion's Exhibit:
Mazzelh Grammar
omggggg sooooo cuuteeeeee! ^_^ *uberflail*
...I don't think I really need to comment much more than that, except to say that this was a sharp contrast from last week's entry, in that its simplicity contributed greatly to its effectiveness. Sometimes them's the breaks.
Wow, I feel all self-conscious using bad grammar now.
ANYWAY.
Let's do the judging!
Grand Prize: klaushouse
Given his track-record in this thread, I'm going to title this Self-Portrait
It was the joke that had to be made, but frankly I think it's brilliant, because I've studied modern history and this is a stunningly accurate rendition of Hitler, his presentation and his style of speech delivery.
Klaus has always delivered something fresh and sometimes edgy and sometimes plain dangerous, and maybe because of this, maybe despite this, has never quite broken through into the winners' circle. WELL, THIS TIME HE HAS! Congratulations Klaus, you are the winner of a well-deserved merit.
Note how there's nothing particularly offensive about this entry :P
Furthermore it inspired a follow-on joke from me:
Second Place: pedspog
Despite its tangential relevance, I rofl'd when I read this. And better yet, it's the kind of joke that gets funnier the more you read it!
The downside is that I will have Madagascar nightmares for a week.
Third Place: gantic
The simplicity of this image belies its impact- for many of us are old enough to consider those early early days of school a hazy single outline of...the old crotchety teacher (is that a Ms. Wormwood I see?) harping on at us about things we would never appreciate...
And guess what, some of the people on this forum still don't appreciate why spelling, indeed, counts too!
And now, as you all are surely awating, the Hall of Honorable Mentions!
Evil grammar is evil
cenere
Ich spreche nicht Deutsches :P
The text effect was what I was kinda going for in that Grammar Nazi picture I drew, but somehow I think this does it better.
Epilepsy Inducing Entries
kingryan
Kingryan demonstrates that not only is he colourblind, he is also illiterate :P
owen135731
I'm not entirely sure what this has to do with grammar, but I can tell you now that it made me fall to the floor and foam at the mouth!
At least, in my head I did.
Classroom capers
crimsonblade55
The misadventures of Sasquatch go on. Strangely enough in this case Sasquatch isn't the angry one!
gameingkid
I don't believe I've seen gameingkid make an entry before, which would make this the first. Welcome to he- I mean the art contest bwahah- I mean
The category I will call CHUUUUUUCCCKKKKKKK NORRRIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!
cholokid
Oh come on now, it should go without saying :P
And finally...
The Last-Minute Pwn
thoadthetoad
Yeah, after some examination I realised that is his eye bugging out. Wow.
Alright folks, that's a wrap! Hopefully we'll get some semblance of a schedule back...but I have to think of the next topic now.
OH WAIT I GOT ONE!

Theme: Cartoon characters Deadline: Saturday 6th December
When I say cartoon characters, you can create your own or reference others, as long as it conforms to fair play rules. Another hint: The idea of the presentation is important.
