This is a spin-off of the original GFX Art Battle, but with some updated rules and changes. Please make sure to read the rules before entering, since they have been modified. Good luck, we look forward to seeing some creative artistic entries!
Competition Rules 1. Must be hand drawn, either on paper or in a program. It can then be manipulated in an graphics program. But unoriginal artwork cannot be used as the main focus. Copyrighted images cannot be used. All pieces containing copyrighted images will be disqualified. 2. Submissions must follow the current theme that has been chosen by a moderator for that week. If you submit more than one piece, please clarify which one you would like to be judged. 3. If your image is larger than 600 pixels wide, please provide a link to the image instead of posting it in the forum. Otherwise, the image will be cut off. 4. Artists cannot win in subsequent weeks. You can still submit, but if you won the week before, you cannot get first place again the next week. 5. After the deadline, a moderator will pick the winner, and they will be awarded a 25 AP award.
Ok I looked over each entry several times and I couldn't decide a clear winner, but of course I have to pick one.
Here it goes...

It has a nice simple style and good use of colours. It also as quite a few possible interpretations. The black and white lines have sharp edges and seem to generally be chaotic while the colourful lines seem to just flow. The character is stuck between the two, possibly wanting to get to the otherside of one? However you interpret it, this is just a good simple piece.

Poor guy just wants to get over that wall. It's a funny piece and just feels a lot more complete than the others. You didn't need the use of text to convey the emotion of your poor little character. As SilentQ kindly pointed out, the shadows are way off, but I believe that was intentional, as were the oddly colored clouds. Something about those clouds, they don't look friendly, but yet the little dude wants to get over the wall to them...maybe I'm wrong, but it is something to think about...yeah.
plokkey
Don't worry plokkey, I understand it; but the question is whether he crossed the wall and discovered a barren landscape, or that he just thinks the otherside is barren too. As far as the actual piece, I'm just curious as to whether that wall is suppose to have those jagged areas or not?

This is a Twilight Zone type of other side eh? It Looks nice, effects looks good. Might of looked better without the lines going out from the 'sun', because when I think sun, I don't think of crazy lines flaying around :P
thoadthetoad
I really liked the concept, a nice take on the theme. Scanners obviously like to eat colour, so maybe messing around with sharpness and what not. Maybe cleaning up some of the lines too, but if thats how you like it then I won't insist.

Haha, thanks for the laugh. Next time, try and erase unneccessary lines and also save it as PNG instead of JPEG.
Alright, its time for a little sit down rant... I just wanna thank Zophia for giving me the chance to judge, and all the others who thought I would be good. Another thanks to those who didn't throw a riot lol I appreciate that a lot guys, and I hope that I judged this round well, and the future rounds aswell. I owe yall that.
Here is to hoping that I didn't screw up the images *crossesfingers*
Oh! The next theme is: Annoying Deadline: Next Monday. Get to it!
@Zega, its a statement. Anything can be art. Alot of art consists of only words. Also they all mean the same thing. The contest was art that means annoying and in my opinion its what was stated.
