This is a spin-off of the original GFX Art Battle, but with some updated rules and changes. Please make sure to read the rules before entering, since they have been modified. Good luck, we look forward to seeing some creative artistic entries!
Competition Rules 1. Must be hand drawn, either on paper or in a program. It can then be manipulated in an graphics program. But unoriginal artwork cannot be used as the main focus. Copyrighted images cannot be used. All pieces containing copyrighted images will be disqualified. 2. Submissions must follow the current theme that has been chosen by a moderator for that week. If you submit more than one piece, please clarify which one you would like to be judged. 3. If your image is larger than 600 pixels wide, please provide a link to the image instead of posting it in the forum. Otherwise, the image will be cut off. 4. Artists cannot win in subsequent weeks. You can still submit, but if you won the week before, you cannot get first place again the next week. 5. After the deadline, a moderator will pick the winner, and they will be awarded a 25 AP award.
Bronze is ill, so the judging will be delayed a bit.
Noo the Curse has spread to Bronze..the Curse upon the Judges of the ASC to be inevitably delayed...maybe a smit of badluck befalls anyone who wish's to judge this thread...Beware the evilness
Thanks Cen for telling them. Yep, I am sick. I caught a stomach virus the other day and spent an entire night puking and pooping (sometimes at the same time). Apparently all the muscle spasms from vommitting really leave you in bad shape, I felt like I had been flipped out of a fast travelling golf cart. Anywho, to top that off, after getting over the stomach virus I am starting to get a cold. So before the cold gets any worse and the delay gets any longer...
First - Winner - Grand Champion: Cenere
Your other one would have won too, but this is the one you wanted (hope I don't mess that up again). I like the soft tones, beautiful (and nude).
2nd - kacboy
I really love the style, beautiful vibrant colours. I'm a little so-so on the shading effects, but for the most part they worked. You didn't really need 'The Big City' because I can already see that Good Job.
3rd - Hectichermit
Ok, the sun is a little oddly shaped, but besides that I really love it. The colours look great, I love how soft they look, especially the grass. Thumbs Up.
The Rest
Zega:
You really nailed this. I can easily see Mario jumping around and killing poor little koopas.
Ogt2:
Interesting take on the theme. I like how you did the people, can't really think of anytime I've seen them done like that.
PoisonArrow:
Funny idea, fuzzy picture. I love walking/floating/flying cities, very fantastical. I think your city just sprouted legs to dodge a ballistic missile, but nevertheless...
manny#s:
Ok, this is what I think it is. On a frozen alien planet, some aliens built a city and to warm their city, they built a giant glass dome to entrap the heat from the sun. Well, I reckon that is a giant glass dome, but the lines are so sketchy it is hard to tell. So you just need to work on your line quality a little bit.
TheCheeseMaker:
A lot of goods things to take from this picture. You did a pretty good job with perspective. Your mountains look pretty cool. Your Sun was good, but try drawing it without the out line, trust me. And try experimenting with blending your colours (pencils or crayons) and see what you get.
marioman:
Very cool marioman, but a little small. I can't really see what is in the field (grass blades?), but I would have left them out for such a small picture.
Ok next theme is: Under the Sea! No, it isn't a Little Mermaid theme, but if you want to do something for that go ahead...Umm, the due date is the Saturday after this next one. I need to judge on the weekend because I'm about to start a job with my dad that includes hard manual labor for about 8 hours a day
Still don't stand chance against those mods... I made the shading like that because I was testing out the different tools in flash. And I just really wanted to put that "The BIG City" in there. I will put my under the sea art up soon.
