Hello and welcome!

This is a spin-off of the original GFX Art Battle, but with some updated rules and changes. Please make sure to read the rules before entering, since they have been modified. Good luck, we look forward to seeing some creative artistic entries!

Competition Rules
1. Must be hand drawn, either on paper or in a program. It can then be manipulated in an graphics program. But unoriginal artwork cannot be used as the main focus. Copyrighted images cannot be used. All pieces containing copyrighted images will be disqualified.
2. Submissions must follow the current theme that has been chosen by a moderator for that week. If you submit more than one piece, please clarify which one you would like to be judged.
3. If your image is larger than 600 pixels wide, please provide a link to the image instead of posting it in the forum. Otherwise, the image will be cut off.
4. Artists cannot win in subsequent weeks. You can still submit, but if you won the week before, you cannot get first place again the next week.
5. After the deadline, a moderator will pick the winner, and they will be awarded a 25 AP award.

Celebrity theme threw me off. I don't think I could have done anything worthwhile for it. I wish I had more free time for the eventyr theme.

Oh well, I can't wait for next week's.

Phsycomonkey says that he traced the image and added effects on photobucket
Well, he's disqualified then...

Bolded part. "Unoriginal" meaning something made by someone else. Tracing not allowed. Looking at something and redrawing it is tolerable with links to what it was, but direct tracing is not okay.

Z: So we has a judging... And the toadly Thoad is guest starring as judge while Cenny is away on "holiday" (aka exam stress).
T: *is throwing pins at Cen's picture*
What was that?
Z: Silly thing. You're guest judging, capisce?
T: Oh, that again. Well I have been really excited for it! What with taking care of Cen- I mean... sending him on vacation?

Uh, anyways I've been pretty excited for it and I'll be regular thoad sooner or later on.
Z: Indeed.

Champion's exhibition thingy:

LufffiStudios

http://i724.photobucket.com/albums/ww246/LufffiStudios/CelebrityEntry.jpg
T: Yep. It's a champions exhibit alright... I have nothing to say for I am a vegetable. *srs face*
Z: While you vegetate on his entry, I can just say that I am a bit 'whut' on the expression of the faces (they're a bit - scary), but it's true that celebs can be ridiculously trend setting.
T: Yeah, it's true that. I've seen a girl shave her head because she was an hXc Britney fan. It was fun seeing her run out of the school crying that day her friends made fun of her~
Z: Sillies...
Okay, moving on.

First place:

crimsonblade55

http://i530.photobucket.com/albums/dd349/crimsonblade55/Celebrities.png
T: Yes, this shows how the writers of the world are greatly unappreciated and all you need is a suave haircut and decent acting skills to make it big in hollywood *slicks hair back* you also need to know how to kill a zombie, in 43 different ways.
Z: ... Yeah righhht. Poor writers, though. Can't blame their occasional strikes.
Also interesting way to use the same good ol' characters in a different context.
T: Yep. Shiny bell pepper is shiny, tooo~ *sniffs pepper*
Z: Lulzicals.

Second place:

Cenere

http://i428.photobucket.com/albums/qq1/Cerene_Cerine/clebs.png
T: Ah yes, the half a**edness is amusing to me, plus it's always nice to see yourself in a piece of ... paint (just kidding, it's art. Don't kill me XD). Even though I can NORMALLY figure out who it is (tennisman, skaterkid, Thoad, Estel (?), moegreche, strop, etc. etc.), it's still a bit of a pain to figure it out, so it got 2nd.
Z: Yeah, despite much amusement from it, its, well, Paintness, drags down... But awesomely amusing to guess people, and a good stick figure representation of most of the well known AGers.
T: Quite~
Z:
Third place:

Cholokid

http://i534.photobucket.com/albums/ee348/Cholokid34/celebcopy.jpg?t=1241814877
T: oh yes I loved this one, as it showed the celebrites eyes pretty well. Makes me sad when I said that I wanted to be just like that cody martin person from the suite life of zack and cody.
Z: Is it okay that the reference you just made went completely over my head?
T: Yeah, it's an american show hosted on disney show...long gone that phase thank sweet merciful god.
Z: Lol, fair.
Good entry, yes indeed, and Cholo's getting a good hang of his tablet~
T: Did I mention that I might be getting a tablet this christmas?
Z: I'm not sure whether or not you've mentioned it in this thread, but you told me before, yes~
T: Mmk, next pic now?
Z: Yes~

The rest of the entries, in more or less random order:

xtiamotx

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y147/xtiamotx/Art/RedCarpet-1.jpg
T: ah yes, a rather flashy, glittery, and yet somehow... uneyecandy-ish pic to me. It's not that it isn't DA** IMPRESSIVE, it's just that it's not exactly my kinda thing I guess. Still, good pic overall. I especially like the coloring on the dress~
Z: I still stick with my original "sexeh~" comment.
That, and I envy tiamot's skill of drawing human faces.
T: PFFTHAHAHAHA.

Don't *grunt* all over the screen now zophy.
Z: . . .

Gantic
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/blackcairn/AG/Interfulgent.jpg
T: Ah yes, I only got this about... an hour ago where I had to think what it would have anything to celebrities when I linked stars to Celeb's. I have always loved your way of making the theme roundabout yet direct at the same time. It's like the feeling of bittersweet, I get off from it.

yes, I was just kidding.
M: Hopefully.
One of my faves of the entires, but as usual I don't really know what to say about Gantic's stuff.
Also wondering about the 'shining between' thing.
T: Shining between?
Brb, I got the late night snackies~
Z *nod*
Interfulgent. The file name.
T: Back with a snack after I killed shaq!

Z: Ogt2

http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/4596/ooooobamma.jpg
T: Yes! I loved this one very much and I would have put it in my top 3 if zophia hadn't said she removed it from the list *eyetwitch*. Maybe it's just the style of it, which is normally one that is used for inspirational posters at local schools, but for some reason it makes me feel comfy inside~ The one thing I gotta nitpick aobut is...what's that huge lump on his shoulder?
Z: That wasn't what I said, you confused it with the squiggly one he also posted...
And that would most likely be a shoulder pad.
I don't really have much to say about this one, except that it is well made indeed. Nice illustrational style.
T:....oh f**k. Oh well.
I didn't know shoulder pads went up that far... anyways, next pic.
Z: I would think that had something to do with the style... But yes, next pic.

fst6

http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb19/fst6/Celebrities.jpg
T: Ah yes, how nicely....painted. Yes.
Honestly, the britney references are great except for the first one, when did she have orange hair?
Snake n' bacon.
Hamsterjelly. yes.
Z: I'm my usual 'whut' face here.
But yay, sticklebrities.
T: indeed, haha.

Z: Zega

http://i480.photobucket.com/albums/rr165/96Zega96/Spider-man.jpg
T: ....Neh. I wasn't really all that fond of this entry. Nothing personal, but it just wasn't very interesting to me. It's a decent enough pic, though.
Z: I think it's what would have happened to Peter Parker if the spider that bit him had been a ten foot tall mutant.
Not just a few spidery skills, but that.
T: That reminded me of teenage mutant ninja turtle. Oh well, next pic?
Z: Apocalypse

http://i496.photobucket.com/albums/rr321/Apocalypse_ArmorGames/Apocalypse.jpg
T: Ah, for some reason, I actually liked this one very very much. It's just really odd how it's a paint job yet I still liked it.
Z: It's kinda cute, though quite silly.
T: indeed

Z: DDX

http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v329/227/70/1310460133/n1310460133_30081264_29.jpg
T: Ah yes, not to sound paranoid but this was a bit riskay on how good it was...like a sudden jump. Not to mention that I thought I saw this as a reference poster on a viral advertising site. But you're getting benefit of the doubt and it's a decent pic, but I never really liked that sort of style.
Z: It's a good pic. Interesting style. And I want whatever kind of scanner was used to scan this...
T: ...I thought this would be digital art...? oh well. lol :P
Z: He said it was "chalk pastel on construction paper". Which is also why I asked for a photograph as evidence for it being his pic. Sucks that we have to be so suspicious, but we've had people fake art skills before...
T: Oooh, I see. Yes the whole dealio's before was a serious drag as there were great arts and now I'm paranoid of newcomers since then. :P Pain in ze buttocks. And strop is vulgar.
Hamsterjelly, yes.
*psychotic smile*
Z: thisisnotanalt

http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/3807/umbrellaofdoom.png
T: Ah yess, this one. It expresses the celebrity road quite well, hard directions, somewhere in the middle before it all smoothens out there's a big hole, and then eventually it's a straight shot to a small hole. If you managed to put a matrix reference of "Take the blue pill and everything shall return to normal, and take the red pill and I'll show you just how far the rabbit hole goes" from the matrix, I'd have dubbed this #1 and have given you 1 interwebz.
Z: ...whut.
T: Matrix reference.
Z: Yeah, got that much.
T: it's a famous line when neo meets the black dude.
Z: I know.
T: Then why did you go "whut."?
Z: Because I could. :P

Sssssnnaakke
And the thing I hope was his official entry because otherwise we messed that bit up:
http://i733.photobucket.com/albums/ww334/Sssssnnaakke/futureceleb.png
T: Yes, I just plain didn't get this. It was flashy, colorful, and neony enough to catch my attention but the lack of a joke left me going "whut" and just lookign away. Meaning it's an attention grabber but it can't hold my attention for more than 10 seconds...
No offense it's a decent enough pic but I don't get it whatsoever.

1h:30m of judging in the counting~
Z: Hey, we're fast.
T: ...oh, was that the last of the entries? o.o
Z: It was.
T: OH mai! I hadn't even known.
Well, so what's the new theme?
Z: Lulzicals.
And I dunno, we discuss this now?
T: ah, sure. How about "Modspam"?
Z: Think that can really work as a theme? 'Moderators didn't get a particularly good amount of entries...
T: ...good point.
Z: Why thank you. *bow*
T: Hmm, how about...games?
Z: I think that one has already been made. You stopped pursuing a 'war' theme?
T: ...Good point! War tiem anyone? :3
Do I get to see people having their brains splattered all over a wall from a AA12 now?!
MEWANT, MEWANT!!!!
Z: ... Lol.

Theme: War
Deadline: Monday, March 18th

T: HELL YEAH! BRING YOUR GUNS, BRING YOUR G.I. SHOVELS, FOR THE THOAD HAS PREVAILED! ALL MODS SHALL KNEEL BEFORE MY AWESOME MIGHT!!!!
and I was only half serious that time, new record!
Z: ... *forces Thoad down on his knees, tying the leash in his newfound collar to a ring in the ground* Now if I leave you there for a week, you'll be duly excited for next week's judging.
T: ...Oh you know just the way to turn me on don't you ms. BDSM?
*bursts out laughing*
Z: And with that highly inappropriate note, we're off for this time~
T: G'night everybody! *animaniacs pose*

Naw, no extra points for actually drawing in paint with my touchpad:<
Anyway, the war theme... Hmm... Yes...
And seemingly Thoad is better at keeping Zophia awake. . .

I'll definitely enter this time with the current theme, especially since I now have the time.

thoad...I actually never thought I would see the day that you got your war theme on this competition, but seeing as how you are a guest judge that is really no shock now though. On another note, I believe this may be my...3rd win in this competition....not sure may need to check the list of winners, which probably needs to be updated soon....well off to war then.

When War Ain't Enough!

War is brutal, but so too can be what comes after!
So here's my submission.
(Sorry about the image size, it was necessary in order to read the text!)

hmm new style perhaps? I would hate to imagine what the shamans "me time" was though. I still have quite a ways to go with my entry though so let me get back to it.

It's the style I use when I do comics, sorta order of the stickish. It draws up quickly, so it's great for comics. I figured since those are the sort of images that are placing, I might as well not bother putting hours into a digital painting.
