Warmage! Spellcasting and able to survive close combat. Not dying ftw.
Also, that's DnD warmage for you. I played a kobold. With spellfire^^

And mancers in general are pretty cool too.

My favourite is the psichic elemental(daaaaah, elementals arespellcasters. try thinking out of the box)
but the noctomancers and numinomancers also are cool
