Right, so I pulled out of the previous GFX round due to not being able to finish on time. Since then I've been working on the image on-and-off and now it's finished only about a week late.

The picture shown below is half the size, the fullsize one can be found by clicking on the picture.

The full resolution pic (1280xs1024) is low quality...the high quality version is 1.1Mb and doesn't fit on photobucket xD Lame. Except I feel justified with the size...this was hand-drawn from start to finish.

I should have tidied up the sketchlines more, but wasn't actually intending to spend this much effort on it. Meh.

These are extremely rough drafts drawn as fast as I get ideas, so naturally they will be polished to the standard of the first nine pages of Round 2.

I never figured out the exact shape of Kai's nose really. Come to think of it I don't remember any references that gave me a good idea of how it's actually shaped.

It's really difficult to get right. Especially because Cenere hardly ever draws his nose as more than a manga line, and... Well yes.

I try to base it a bit off of Cen's own nose... *drawing of Cen's face*

But ya, broken a bit...

If you want though you can read the script and tell me what your original ideas were, so that we can work something out. The script has some flexible parts.


Yeah, uh, the only part that would look like I copied was the flying through the wall and into the building with all the traps. Oh, and can you tell me how I should portray Strop in my story? (Phil's AG Adventures.) Or can I ask if I can even include him in my story.

Btw, you don't need to change anything, I like my new idea better. It's a little more...Phil styled. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaah...

I don't see any broken nose in Kai's long list of injuries, unless you mean the way I draw it makes it look broken? Oh heck, I'll ask for a really detailed description later so I can draw it just right when I get the time, mkay? :P I get the general idea but I do hope I can take *some* artistic license due to stylistic differences.

Oh, and can you tell me how I should portray Strop in my story? (Phil's AG Adventures.) Or can I ask if I can even include him in my story.


You do have permission, thanks for asking. You should portray strop as you see him on AG, but if you have any specific questions you can shoot me a line (it'd have to be either over DA or on gmail, for either ask me on DA first.)

wow just read through this thread, took me like 30 mins... great artwork though!! even the scribbles shine with brilliance!! lol i liked kingryans fanart (page 22-23) and I want him to do more!!

And yet more dialogue...you may recall that Orlestat was turned into a silver fox in Masquerade, and his presence now confirms Strop's hunch (as implied in the script). But why does he always give Strop a hard time?

Orlestat's eyes look....Blegh, kind of. Specially in the last box that he's in. Btw, thanks for the info on Strop... and stuff.

@slliM: Bird eyes are difficult to anthropomorphise as they're, well, different. Beady for a start. So if you blow it up it looks really creepy.

The 2nd last frame is extremely poorly done and is supposed to be simply his eyes flashing/glowing in the dark, as is commonly seen in manga, or maybe here.

@ howlett: The scribbles were done in openCanvas v1.1. I will most likely use either that or GIMP to do the higher quality versions. Pending figuring which one is better suited to my needs.

but it is fine and readable.

i thought you draw them on paper then scan... you draw them in an application huh!

Kai have broken his nose... four or five times, one of the times being when he had this weird feeling, looked up, and got a pot of flowers right in his face.
He have not broken his nose during the tournament (yet, though I hope it will not happen), but it is starting to look a little crooked, just a little. (result of professional healers).

I've gotten something like that before, except never broke my nose. Back in high school, I had a friend who was much taller than I was, so I yelled out "HEADS" one day, and he dived to the floor. He got up and said "Don't do that, you scare me!" I replied: "One day I will say heads, you will dive to the floor, and I will get hit in the face. Then you will thank me."

We went out to lunch, then returned to school. By instinct I yell "HEADS" and he dives to the floor, then as I look up a basketball flies out of the sky and smacks me in the face.

Actually this is a reference to an over-the-top martial art manga I read once, Grappler Baki.

Orlestat does a kiap which almost literally blows Strop off his feet, but Strop manages to find his footing!

Strop attacks with ferocity! Bruce Lee would be proud.

But the attack does nothing! Strop tries a different tack but has yet to realise that you can't possibly be taken seriously when you're yelling the name of your techniques before you do them.
