a lot of people say that they like getting points to see the next set of armatars. If all armatars were available when you first sign up for AG would still care about points and trying to become #1 on AG.com? if so, why?
I don't care about AP that much anyway I am excited when I get a new set of armatars but I don't care if I don't have them because you will eventually earn them, I think its fun when you have something to look forward to unlocking so I wouldn't want all armatars to be available it would ruin the fun.
then i would have my armatar in just day one if they were all available i do like unlocking those armatars makes me proud and also ranking up makes me feel even prouder
Lol it would make AG a bit simple and you would have nothing new every time you level up, But no i am here to simply be the best i can try and help people and possibly get higher up in AG. ~Yaf
I would not want all the armatars available at the start because to me they are a mark of how much you have participated.
I have been a member since March, and I am just as active as I was then, trying to play all the games and read the forums sometimes.
I would not want the point system changed in any way, except add cool things that you can do with them. Just an idea, but maybe you could have a background to your profile or something similar.
I would care about points a lot, but not to the point where I would spam, because the people who care about things like armatars don't spam in the first place.
There are many aspects of this debate that you must think about. If anyone were to gain the special armatars at the very end of the list, than what point would there be of gaining points, besides having some tiny shield display your rank? However, why would you then have to contribute anything to Armor?
The armatars, to me, are a symbol of knowledge, determination, and a golden reward finer than the Mona Lisa (of course, if there WERE a Mona Lisa armatar, that would be so cool!) And this has to be earned to gain the ones you wish to have. Also, if you DID have them all, then that would ruin all the fun of gaining them. I mean, meeting new people, sharing a laugh, and commenting on your ideas about things that concern you, or you want to know more about.
Armor Games isn't really about the games, just as armatars aren't just colorful images, but it's about how you express your thoughts about the games, just as the armatars can. It's a site where anything you wish to know about (within reason) can be found out by friendly people. And for having to put up with everyone here, plus having a grand ol' time, you are rewarded with special ways to express yourself and your feelings, through images that represent you. The only thing stopping you from experiencing all of these feelings...
...would be having all of them available to you. You'll never know how people may be, you'll never know what may be going on with them, and you'll never CARE to know. Armor doesn't seem to be the kind of site that's filled with heartless, uncaring people. It may have it's fair share of unkind people, but that gets cancelled out when you realize that there are about 50 kind people to every 1 jerk here.
And, there's the fact that those wit certain armatars should be treated with a certain air of importance and respect. If all of the armatars were available to you, than there would be no real pecking order. All of the organization of the site would be in a state of disarray, with kings as serfs, and squires as princes. No sincere respect would be offered or produced, due to the fact that everyone wouldn't care.
And just how would this affect the rest of the site? Well, if all of the armatars were available to the general public, no one would botherr to comment on anything they didn't need to. No one would comment on the games, no one would be able to get feedback on what they make. And no one would want to play a game that doesn't have anything positive about it. There may be some comments, but those would just be out of curiosity on the game. Therefore, nothing would be sincere: the comments, the ratings, the games themselves. None of it would mean anything without justifyable feelings directed toward it.
It all comes down to this, my long rant: If there were armatars of higher ranking available to those who may be newcomers, than there would be nothing to keep anyone here. No one would care about anything relating to the armatars. Including the site itself.
...heh... ...heh... ...heh... Wow, I think that's a new record for me. Maybe one of my longest rants so far. However, every word of it was sincere.
