what if the usa gets in a civil war. i mean states in the west r gonna need water sooner or later and they will come to michigan for the lakes what if michigan says no and they get guns out and fight for it??
I think that's a little far fetched, because if we needed water, and those states were being asses about it, the Gov. could just get in there faces and force them to hand it over >.>
There are much better arguments for another U.S. civil war then this. The newest problem is the gap between the rich and poor, which has caused a lot of rioting across the world since the beginning of time. The water would not be so much of a problem as the fact that we have multiple states and it would turn out like World War 2, where one state allied with another and was forced into war. Also, the different ethnicity also creates a problem.
At this point in time, this country is very stable. The reigning government is not being challenged by another system, nor is there a large demographic so unhappy with the country that they would fight and die to create an entirely new country. There are divisions in this country, but they are mainly pshycographic, not geographic which is another deterent.
I don't see a civil war occuring in the near future.
Our economy follows a very predictable cycle. Like all entities, it experiences growth followed by periods of decline. Even accounting for inflation, this country is still better off then it was even 50 years ago.
Yes, we are currently in a period of decline. If we didn't have these periods, there would be no need for improvement and our economy would become stagnant. Because of these rough patches, our economy as a whole improves.
The economic climate right now is not enough to perpatrate a civil war.
War is actually good for the economy. It actually took WWII to get this country out of the Great Depression, because of all the jobs provided.
A revolution takes extremeist leaders with large followings who believe that the government is not able to change. I can't think of anyone who fits this description at this day in age. The general concensious is that the government is able to change, or the big catch-pharse of these elections would not be change.

What do you mean by change? From what I understand, it can't for the most part. Revolutions take place to help change the government actually. Although they do abolish it, they replace it with another. Its like the boat that you break apart and put back together. Is it still the same boat?
I know quite a number of revolutionary communists. That and the various leftist parties around the world...
Heres a short article on how wars can beneficial. I had a better one but can't find.
I do believe that some wars can be beneficial. I just don't believe that there is a real movement towards civil war inside the United States at present.
