So, what does everyone else think of Metallica's newest album Death Magnetic? Personally, I have to say its one of their better albums since the black album. It contains alot of their earlier elements. Also contains a third Unforgiven which strays from the previous installments' styles, but is a bit downbeat. Personal Favorites "All Nightmare Long, My Apocalypse, Suicide & Redemption (new instrumental) and Cyanide. Jan 13 Joe Louis Arena :P

very true... of those 3 albums, only Until it Sleeps, and maybe the Unforgiven 2 were the only ones id say were good to listen to.

Well, i liked it at first listen but then i talked with my metalhead friends about it. And i realized that i didn't have anything but the black album to compare it to. So i picked up Ride The Lightning...and nooooow i realize why all metalheads hate new metallica. Death Magnetic is a step in the right direction, but def. not the older, better metallica.

well, you can't always do the SAME thing, or people get bored, and after playing as long as they have, its understandable that they have had their ups and downs, but in comparison with other newer albums of theirs, its definately one of the better ones. Ride the lightning is probably thier best also.

I think it is quite a good album, and i also think that the day that never comes is the best song on the album, and when you say that until it sleeps and the unforgiven 2 were the only good songs, redwinger, try king nothing off of load. It is a great song.

I have heard king nothing, I didn't really think it was all that spectacular... and id recommend listening to Suicide and Redemption, they did a great job with their newest instrumental (first one in a LONG time) they really did a great job on it.

You guys really think Ride The Lightning is their best album? I would definitely have to disagree there. I think the best is Master of Puppets by far. Anyway, about Death Magnetic. I really really like All Nightmare Long. It reminds me a lot of Master of Puppets. The really have begun moving back toward their older stuff, which is good. Hence why there are only 10 songs but the album is still 75 minutes in length.

I do like Master of Puppets... im not saying it isn't good, because it is. I just seemed to like Ride the lightning more... just my opinion. and yes, All Nightmare Long is pretty sweet, the Judas Kiss isn't bad either, they released it as one of the singles.
