As many of you know, these forums are swarming with Liberals. Tat is why I am calling all Conservatives out of hiding to unite against these Leftists. I have been asked why I just don't concede and let them have their party, and I said this:

This is unfortunately true. Which begs the question how do we conquer human greed? Is the only solution to improve humanity to make our selves inhuman?

Example: The only thing that gets through the budget of California is a wage increase for the legislature. They write themselves a raise every year, and there aren't enough sensible people in Sacramento to fight it. If that's not enough, I'll be happy to give you more examples.

I suppose self interest might be a better term to use, even the desire to help your own children over others could be (in a limited sense) be considered a type of greed. The desire of people to gain an edge over others for whatever reason is that greed.
Well yes people are self interested, and this is crucial for a society to work!
But greed is a whole another thing. Greed would be putting the wants of having more in front of everything else.I really find don't find it justified to say that the lust for more is of human nature. I for one wouldn't care to have all the money in the world!

Actually, they do know what they are doing and have been caught in their own words when confronted about it. Their greed tells them to not admit the truth, and their pride tells them not to lie...
I meant know that the they are actually causing trouble to OTHERS. They may just see it as an easy way to get more $.
Well, the two issues are one in the same. As the politicians get greedier, less money goes where it is actually needed - to the people who give them that money!!!
Btw, greed is just overindulging in selfish causes.
A great French saint simply says the closest you can get do mediocracy in anything is healthy.
Again, an ammendment says that your religious belief's can't infringe on the belief's of others. So stating that your god is a political value isn't saying anything, because by constitution you can't make your religious beliefs puritan.
