It's no secret that Canada appears relatively globally and politically isolated despite its geographical proximity to the US. What I'm curious to know is the extent of its global trade deals and whether they are also economically isolated.
However the above is also reflective of a general ignorance of US residents as to the happenings elsewhere. IMO the politics in the south-east Asian region is of increasing importance and will at some point become a dominant focus. I don't think too many Americans are aware of this possibility.
Everybody is obsessed with the US elections because the US has been central to almost all world politics and some of the deepest and most urgent conflicts have either been precipitated, initiated by or heavily involve the US in some way or form.
You gusy are making it seem like america is more important than any other country...People probably are caring bout the canadian election and anyways they arent completely isolated they transport many things...such as mayple syrup.
