yeah, i was going to say to a scripture a day, and then half-way changed my mind... so im hoping a mod will change it.. (wink wink)
Yeah I don't mean for it to be just Christianity, although I am. Anything that you like I suppose...
Depends.. My definition Religion: I suppose is a set of beliefs in a faith/God, Creed: I guess a statement of those beliefs, such as We believe in the Trinity and Heaven and Hell... (or something of the such)
"And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time."
Favorite verse, most inspiring: Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
Favorite verse, most entertaining: Judges 3:21-22 "Ehud reached with his left hand, drew the sword from his right thigh and plunged it into the king's belly. Even the handle sank in after the blade, which came out his back. Ehud did not pull the sword out, and the fat closed in over it."
And never underestimate the Song of Songs/Song of Solomon.
A Creed is the beliefs, or a short statement (according to Merriam-Webster: 1: a brief authoritative formula of religious belief2: a set of fundamental beliefs ; also : a guiding principle). A religion is much larger, more organized. Most likely a system of behavior and worship etc. organized around a creed or creeds.
Of course, even if he or she does learn, but is surrounded by people who don't, the mistakes could be repeated anyhow and with adverse affect even for those who learned.
Flag Favorite verse, most inspiring: Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
"And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled: But the Lord of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness." Isaiah 5:15-16
