Hi. I want to discuss about those games which makes your really addicted like many MMO's,shooters,etc... I'm really addicted to MapleStory, its free to play MMORPG. In the summer i was 16/24 online, making levels, trading, etc. I used the internet only for this game and MapleStory related sites. I was only sleeping to be able to play again next day. When summer finished i had no problems in school but i was used to go to bed in like 6 o'clock...in the morning. So i couldn't be able to study well. Now its the second part of the school year and i'm better in school. But i still play MapleStory (not this week, video driver is damaged) but not so much time...only like 3-4 hours a day.Is it bad if i play so much...by the way i have good grades and even go to contests for maths! I cannot consider myself as nolifer, just my life(fun things i do) are in MapleStory. Its my better life-not so boring and hard like school. So is addicting really bad or i can live with it?
I myself got to lvl 147 in maplestory but everyone eventually quits(i did). So being addicted isnt so bad, you will eventually kick the habit. Although a new hobby would be nice =p.
Being adicted is bad. You lose quality time with your family you miss good events. Your friends count less with your company and eventualy stop asking you to go out with them. stuff like that i myself was adicted to GTA Online and i played like 14 hours a day at the summer and when school started i had bad grades.
Well...i spend enough time with my friends at school and after school (pool games, darts, etc). I dont like very much to go out with friends, more interesting for me is to chat with thousands of people and grinding. Is that a disease?
I guess its somewhat bad, I do believe social life in game is less important than outside. It gets tiring after years of playing it, right now its still addicting because of the new job advances and everything but yeah.
I think he means in the long run, because all the time you used playing games you could have used for something els more useful. Also you could develop carpel tunnel or dvt sitting down pressing buttons for hours on end everyday. Limits yourself or take at least 20-30min breaks in between. I know maple story is famous for telling you to take a break.
I would suggest you try to reduce the time you spend playing this game If you can do it then it means that you're not really addicted. You need to have a strong will to do so. Playing the same game for one hour every day or so isn't bad, it's the length that's bad, and the fact that you can't stop.
hitman is my worst case i can't stop killing the people better more silent and without shoots
but why is this wrong??? i'm computeraddicted everything not just games, also hardware tools coding watching films and so on and i spend mostly all my day with it and i have a girlfriend, money and friends outside the internet i just never leave the house except for buying food.why should i go outside if its inside warm comfortable and silent
i work at home assembling hardware to PCs and selling them with my friend and I got a small retirement pay cause i can't do any work because of a long nail that keeps my back together after an accident and no i'm not really happy about being a useless part with 20 but i think everybody has to do the best out of his situation, or not?? and i'm happy i can still walk and and piss alone and not be sitting in a wheelchair....
//only like 3-4 hours a day.Is it bad if i play so much...//
"little". The word you're searching for is "little", not "much".
Let me elaborate. I play video games about 8 hours on school days, and 12 - 16 hours straight on weekends. I eat like it's my job, but I'm still thin like a twig. I don't go outside that much. I've NEVER had any video game-related health problems. EVER.
If I'm not gaming, I'm watching anime or reading manga.
And yet, I get outstanding grades. I always finish my homework on time.
However... even THIS mighty warrior has fallen once or twice... or thrice.
Oblivion (PC) - I have every expansion to it, and that little mod that elder scrolls released which isn't in any expansion. I have lots of player-made mods. For a while I was playing this game until 2 in the morning.
Runescape - It's not the game itself, but the work. I was addicted to making more and more money, getting stronger, and better at smithing. But now that I've achieved my goal, things are slowing down. I can make money easily, and I can actually ENJOY the game.
GTA: San Andreas - Very addictive, even AFTER I beat it.
Fable: The Lost Chapters - On my laptop, I could sit up in my bed just messing around in the game. There's so much stuff to do.
Hearts - An armorgames original. Only once did this happen to me, but I was up until 2 in the morning just shooting down hearts one night. I couldn't resist the beautiful music that gave me a feeling of peace and warmth, or that beautiful girl who you play as. Her cute heavenly wings, her pretty pink hair... and of course, her anime style.
ANY Hentai Game - For Americans, these are more tedious. You just keep pressing space in most of them, and watch what happens. There's so much dialog to go through. In "Pure Pure", it took me four hours of space bar pressing before I finally got to get it on with someone. These games are addicting because you can't wait for the special moment. These games are time consuming because it often takes a while to get there.
Guild Wars - What happens in Ascalon, STAYS in Ascalon. This game is addictive because it's fun to play, and because it's so easy to play around. Especially in pre. There's always some girl who wants to get some cyber. Of course, there's no way to tell the difference between real girls and guys. It's a game packed with temptation. Lots of cybering and lewd behavior, but it's hard to resist. Even if you don't get to participate, there's almost ALWAYS an opportunity to watch.
Phoenix Wright - Amazing. Stories are great, gameplay is great. Music is great. All of them are great. It takes time to play through though.
Warcraft 3 DOTA MAPS - What can I say about dota... that hasn't already been said about Afghanistan. But I keep coming back for more punishment.
Warcraft 3 Jurassic Park maps - I got J.P. fever. This is my latest addiction. I just LOVE to show everybody how much more money I made than them near the end. I just love to build up mechs to blow away dinos. It's so fun.
