Well a good way to resolve this is to get ad blocks plus.If you want I can get you a link to download it,but what it will do is remove all of the ads so you will no longer have to deal with this.
in order to disable the add-on or any add-on for that matter go to the tools section of your nav bar and their should be a button under it labeled add-on's.From their select the add-on and their should be a option to uninstall it or disable it.That should do it,but you need to be sure to select one of those things after you first download it I think they are called subscriptions or something,but its free,and you don't need to sign-up for anything,but if you don't get one then you will need to use the device to manually block each ad on the site yourself.Also yes it does get rid of all ads,except a few things that are built into the site in a certain way,such as the banners on AG's home page are not blocked automatically.
