I think that the game creaters should get 1 point for every rating their game gets and 1 point for every comment their games get. Tell me if you think so and why/why not?

I think that it isn't a bad idea, but you're thinking wrong. People like John and AG and ConArtists would have 4 billion AP and everyone else left in the dust. I think maybe a reward of average rating after 100k plays. Like a 9 rating after 100,000 gets you 9 AP or something. Or, if it reaches 1 million plays then you get a bonus or something. It would take some thought.

That'd be unfair to us then. What makes game authors so special? Just because they created a game? That may be fantastic and all, but I think we shouldn't segregate AG in that nature.

Well, this would give game creators who do not interact with the site a huge point advantage over active members. It just doesn't seem fair for a developer who does not spend any time on the site to be ahead of people who are interacting ever day.

Most creators don't really care about AP that much. anyways... some game creators would have way too many AP if this happened, I think the current scale for gaining AP when submitting games is enough.

Definitley not fair for every one.

Maybe at like intervals of like 100 comments and 100 ratings, they get like 10 points.

Firstly, I am just going to let you know in advance that I will be locking this thread. I can't even count the amount of times developers points have been brought up.

But the fact is, most developers don't care about the points. They just want more exposure for their games. Most of the bigger developers (Miniclip, Crazy Monkey Games) do not come on the site, unless to upload a game. So it seems unfair to me that people who never interact with the site would be ranked much higher than members who are on the site everyday interacting in the community.

So that is pretty much my take on it, and is one of the reasons why we have not changed point values.

Please please, no more threads about this. kthnx bai.

I don't think it would be illegal, but usually they are letting you copy an "embed source" code... which is not a file. I'm pretty sure you need to submit the specific Flash file to be able to submit a game on AG.

As well, if you did not create a game, you cannot submit it.

Yes, I agree it is not very fair... however, even 10 points for 100 comments/ratings seems not fair either... many games have huge amounts of spam comments and random ratings from people who may not even have played the game.
