They race cars because they can, want too, have audience, and msot of all, makes money. Racing cars itself is not that bad. The only real downs about the sport is a high-injury rate, and a waste of resources.
And if you don't get why it makes money worth less, it is because when there is more of something, it isn't as valuable.
Actually, I would think it would make the product worth more. If you buy one, that means that there is one less in the rest of the worlds for sale, lower supply, same demand. The money would remain at the same value, but the value of the product would go up.
The Fear of driving. Driving cars at 300 MPH, climbing super high mountains, swimming in freezing water. It gives people knowing that they are truly alive. Yes, this may sound stupid to someone who wants to be all scientific on this matter but haven't you ever felt you don't exist? Like your a nobody in the world of 6.3 Billion people?
well because of the thrill of it! duh! its like asking why cats chase mice, because the thrill of it! riding a roller coaster and other rides waste gas also, but we still do it fir the simple thrill and adrenaline rush you get!
To have fun, you usually have to spend money. The exact argument could be used on why people go to roller coaster parks, why people play videogames, or buy expensive computers.
i think nascar is the most ridiculous thing ever, with gas prices high already people dont look at how going so long at high speeds (which makes it worse) hurts themselves. Thing is most people will complain about how much they have to pay but then turn around and watch nascar for almost 3 hours Ive been to a nascar race (Georgia track) before and i was amazingly bored, im not sure how you find people racing in a circle entertaining.
NASCAR is cool if you ask me, but it is just because they can drive and want to make a living, or if you look at Dale Earnhart jr. he gets it from his dad.
