Not counting avant-garde action loops and aleatory computer generated stuff (which can rivet you for many many hours if you didn't have any bodily functions), I'll cite these
Single movies: Titanic (about 4 1/2 hours). Ben Hur (about 3 1/2 hours). Dishonorable mention is Millenium Man, at 3 and a bit hours of sheer glacial plot pace and sentimentalism.
If you want to brag about watching the longest movie ever, watch Leni Riefenstahl's Truiumph of the Will. Then you can say you not only watched the most epic 9 hour film ever, but that you also watched Nazi propaganda.
If you really want to test your limits, try watching a Wagnerian opera (at least 4 hours each). Anything from Niebelungelied (if I spelt that right) or Tristan und Isolde or even The Mastersingers. Not recommended unless you actually understand German.
'Insomnia' A friend and me watched it for the fun of it...As a bet mostly
80...hours...long -.o
At first I thought you were exaggerating, but I looked it up and the movie "The cure for insomnia"(which is its real name since their is another movie named insomnia that is actually one of the shortest I have ever heard of)but its actually about 87 hours long.I found this to be quite ridiculous, and also was surprised by the fact that people would waste their time making a movie that long.Anyways I can't think of the longest one I have ever seen.I have seen quite a few long movies in the past now that I think about it,but none that were about 87 hours long of course.
