Me and my brother recently had an argument about a subject that pooped up on T.V. and well i just wanna see what you think.
example: a mad man has a gun grabs your son/daughter and says "give me your shoes or ill kill him/her" = you don't have to give him the shoes but what makes people give the shoes away is the consequence.of course if this did happen you would do as the mad man says and give away the shoes, but you do still have the choice of walking away and letting your kid die.you probaly would'nt but you could. so thats why i won the debate. So if you can thinks of any things you have to do then say and ill reply
I don't want to sound like a jerk, but technically, children are replaceable. The memories you share with them, their personalities, and such are not.
If we're looking at the material value of things, the shoes are probably worth more than the children. However, morally, who would want to sacrifice their children for shoes? Fortunately for humanity, morality often outweighs materialism. In extreme cases like these, that is.
Only a someone who hates their kids would simply walk away, I really would just give the poor soul my $12.00 shoes i got at wal-mart in exchange for my son/daughters life.
