Now, I know we all have seen crazies toting those "End of The World! Repent now!" signs in movies and real life. Those people are fueled by religious gobbledy gook and mental disorders.
I am not one of those people. I am a rational, realistic thinker. And time right now are indeed scary.
Look at what is happening in the U.S and world today. Stocks are dropping are insane rates, countries are being bled dry of their wealth (while even more money is being invested in order to try and turn around the losses.) The real end of sorts will comes when the stock market worldwide crashes and all credit and money systems are made useless.
I am aure most all of you have seen the movie "Fight Club", correct? Where all major U.S credit companies were destroyed and, as such, everything was set back to a default of zero. Same idea in real life right now, but worse.
If the economy in the U.S totally fails this time round, it will be beyond the point of redemption. And without the U.S's economy, worldwide economy will suffer greatly if not fail all together.
The way I see it, right after a total collapse martial law will be imposed. Yet that can only last so long in such a trying time. No money to pay all the costs of having soldiers around the clock. After a while, things will lapse into a chaotic state of anarchy. People will be in a state of shock for a while until the gravity of what just happened sinks in. That will be the calm before the storm. When it does sink in, be prepared to see people looting and raiding stores to gather supplies. And expect there to also be much guarding of said stores. There are bound to be groups of people who try and claim such retailers as there own to try and turn a profit. Such a state will last for only so long until the stores eventually are emptied of all their supplies. Afterwards, towns or groups of people will be forced to band together and launch raids on neighboring cities/towns to get needed supplies. A nation will quickly disolve down to what is essentially tribal warfare. Tribes of people will be forced to kill others in order to survive. Ever played the games Fallout/Fallout 2? If not, go look it up up. Same ideas portrayed there but in a slighlty more futuristic and sci-fi setting. Eventually, all pre-made supplies will dry up completely. People will be forced to create their own goods, raise their own food, breed their own stock. Times will go back to a simpler day when people were forced to supply for themselves and look out for their own good.
This is just a basic quick run down of what may happen if things keep on going down the same path.
Any thoughts, ideas, questions? Objections perhaps? Feel free to jump in and discuss the situation.
Well, maybe that will happen if larger powers don't interfere, but there are some smart people out there with some good ideas at hand. I wouldn't expect the end of the world anytime soon.
chaozmachine drank too much pepsi... does anyone pay attention to my post, you know, the gigantic columns of words... *sigh* anyway, the earth won't explode with two scissor kicks, it won't be ended by atomic wars, besides, if you believe in God as your own personal Savior, you won't have to worry about being blown up.
Iv got one word for you all CHINA!! China is an emerging world SUPER POWER much like the US befor is got shit *sorry but you guys are fighting a losing war in the middle east* anyway Chinas apatite for Austalian and world resorses that it will help keep the world econamy afloat...well thats how the theory goes any way, your way of END OF CIVLILIZATION is only likely to happen in 1st world countrys because 2nd and 3rd world countrys dont have the imfastructure for that to happen bugga hey!
Nuclear War: We brag about our nukes, boast them, and even test them, but we're not dumb enough to really launch them all.
LHC: We don't even know if the LHC can do what it was intended to do, because it is a theory. And the theory that black holes will be created is just a theory of that other theory. My point is that a theory of a theory is not very likely to be real, or be much of a threat.
Disease: There are such things that could easily wipe out a room full of people, but not a planet full. Not only are people that live in Jungles, Arctic Regions, and Islands going to be pretty safe from a big disease, nothing is 100% fatal. There are always people who will avoid a disease or be immune to it.
Things could happen
Meteors: Really great chance of this, we don't even have all of the meteors in the Solar System mapped, let alone the Outer Solar System.
Earth's Mantle: It wiped out more than 80% of the world's life forms before, and it sure as heck can happen again. The Cambrian era ended because the Mantle moved upwards and exploded onto the surface, cause thousands of years of extreme volcanic action, earthquakes, and dropped temperatures. If this every happened in the modern times, I have no doubt in my mind that we could easily be wiped out.
