Before the only gd PC game was world of worecraft but finally a game has been made to challenge it...
SPORE!!! In this game you create virtual creatures. You start off as a bacteria and eventually build a spaceship and rule the universe. You can also see your friends creations and have competitions with them. If you have a PC game thats better then what is it?
Uhh... well I know it's really old but I loved Simon the Sorcerer and games like that, where you have to think and try and work it out. I don't really have many modern games for my computer lol..
its an interesting thought you have, but theres much more to it.
in 2050, or before, we will have so good graphics, that the human eye wouldnt be able to see it if it was improved. therefore, at that point, we´ll be able to decrease the size of the computer unit, and eventually make it the size of a normal laptop.
about spore and wow, there are some things you must look in perspective. first of all, wow is the best OF ITS GENRE you cannot, and i really mean cannot, compare 2 game that is of different genres. spore and wow are two very different games, and where you must compare wow to games like Age Of Conan and Warhammer Online: Age Of Reconning, so must you compare spore with games of its kind(and since its mixes everything from "feeding Frenzy" to wow and to "stronghold" this is hard to compare to anything. there are though a few things that does again in every game, and its these that the reviewers base the reviews on:
Story(if any) Gameplay Visual/Audial performance Innovation(if any) and a few others.
most reviwers state, that the gameplay and story are most important, some for the innovation, and a very few base it on graphics.
i personally think, that the best game ive played is GTA 4 or Vice City. but every man every taste
spore, mass effect, assasins creed, gears of war, starwars, the force unleashed(it is actually a really great game, just annoying targeting system, but a story equally great to the one in bioshock!), hopefully fallout 3, bioshock, call of duty, crysis, halo 1,3(halo 2 is prolly one of the worst games ive played, know its good on xbox, but i got it on pc), GTA IV, metal gear solid 4... all good games no gaming is not dead... its just be born!
Spore is great, but there are some flaws and it can get quite boring, leaving you with only the creators to have fun with.
I actually enjoyed WoW much, much more, but was forced to quit due to laggy internet and lack of time. With World of Warcraft, you never run out of anything to do, and the only downsides are lack of time, crappy internet, and, of course, the $15 monthly fee.
ON A SIDE NOTE.....
UNREAL TOURNAMENT series::: By far the best FPS series ever created, but for more story-based games, PAINKILLER, BIOSHOCK, and PREY were great. These games each brought some new kind of element to FPS and were loads of fun. I think Painkiller should have gotten more publicity though, as I found it the most fun and addicting of the three (first out too).
