I prefer werewolves, because if they have enough willpower, they can controll it, whereas vampires (or vampyres)are simply dead bloodsucking fiends. Werewolves can still be good people.
By the way, why not put werewolf under the term "Lycanthropes" which includes wererats, wereboars, etc.?
Vampires are more advanced in technology... heck, sure they have a puny size and are afraid of the light, but they suck blood, they have awesome stealth and speed, forget about turning into a bat, that'd just get you squashed.
