Which surprise disease is this? SARS? Avian flu? Some crazy multi-resistant molecule/bug that we have no vaccine for?

Well the first thing that came to my mind is the babies that are dying because of the ingredient they put in milk to make it look healthier than it really was. If he means that, then no it won't come here because we are not so stupid that we will try the same thing.
But really, be specific.

Possum, your post was pointless. That image is pointless. Stop posting those here, and stop posting those on peoples' profiles, hmm?

I thought there was a disease in China that could be coming over. Well, I think it was a poisoning of some sort. I saw a commercial on it.

*headdesk* Way not to spam. Anyway, let's have some fruitful discussion:

A major milk supplier in China has been implicated in a major population health scandal: in one of the provinces unsafe practices were revealed that carry serious health implications. Specifically lacing the milk with melamine, a toxic protein, to make bad milk appear fresher (since the protein count drops the older the milk gets).

As a result, several hundred people, mostly children I believe, were hospitalised with melamine poisoning. The last I heard of it there was an argument over who was to blame: corrupt Chinese government officials, or non-Chinese distribution contractors (a New Zealand company, if I recall correctly). Either way, people have long recognised this to be "yet another incident" in the long string of unsafe health practices that are exposed in China from dodgy pharmaceuticals to contaminated foodstuffs, and hardly expect this to be the last time such will surface.

Don't say that, I just had some 2 days ago =(

And you technically can't get Malamine poisoning. Melamine, like you said Strop, just makes spoiled milk appear fresh. So it's really just spoiled milk poisoning for the gist of it.

what do you mean?

No. Malamine is what they use to make plastic hard. Its NOT supposed to be eaten. Its BAAAD protein. Very bad.

you never make any sense, do you?

I do, I have a very good one. I would take pictures of my dog and some friends and show you them, in exchange for pictures of your friends, but I dont have a camera, and not on my phone, so that ideas gone.

more pathetic posts, nice, you know, instead of talking about a bunch of nonsense, you could just NOT come back to this site, how's that?

When I said it in the first place, you didnt seem to understand, so I said it more clearly.

oh, that's sweet of you, how about you send me a christmas card in december, that'd be nice, and make sure you decorate the card WELL, I don't want to see any sloppyness.

hahahaha, I'm laughing at you

Seriously guys, would you take the flaming elsewhere and stop spamming unnecessarily?
In this thread, you've behaved almost equally bad... Please get a better grip of common courtesy, both of you.

Now, in an attempt to be on topic...

Melamine is combined with formaldehyde to produce melamine resin, a very durable thermosetting plastic, and melamine foam, a polymeric cleaning product. The end products include countertops, dry erase boards, fabrics, glues, housewares and flame retardants. Melamine is one of the major components in Pigment Yellow 150, a colorant in inks and plastics.
*noms info* Chemicals!

Yes, my attempt failed.

It's a super-virus. This strain of the Staph virus is immune to all treatment at this time. It's usually picked up at hospitals, and other medical clinics. It's already here in the U.S. though.

I know right? That's one reason I hate going to the doctor/hospital. I always wind up getting something else.
