This Halloween a boy dressed up as Jesus for school. He was booted from school for it being a distraction to "the learning process" Yet they told him that it was offensive to some students when nothing offensive had ever actually occurred.
Has the right of freedom been stripped out of our hands?
This is why religion, in general, is a pain in the tooshy. People have other religions, they express it, those with other religions think that's offensive because they think that is harming their own religion. It's an endless cycle, never stops, always ends up in causing conflict. It's a darned shame we can't stop the inevitable.
I think the devil wouldn't be so problematic is because a majority of the religious peoples that follow Jesus(Christians and the like) take no offense to the devil and such, while every other religion doesn't really care at all. However JESUS, on the other hand, is sacred and such so someone making a mock of him and wearing a costume like that on Halloween(a bad day I believe for most religions) is like burning their front lawn and having a stampeding herd of angry buffalo trample over the ashes....and then eat them o.O
The "distraction to learning" part is just wrong. Every student is dressed-up, and they boot out one person because they're being a distraction. It's a party day, and yet they want 100% efficiency.
Each day, people say the pledge, which has "under God" in it. I can't imagine why a costume like that would be "offensive to some students."
how come dressing up as the devil is approved? how come kids can dress up as a devil for halloween and not jesus? i mean if this was a christian school, then would it not be better for a child to dress up as jesus?
