AC/DC's songs all sound the same, they have the same driving drum beat, the same guitar sounds, and the same annoying, yelling voice. And the lyrics are really annoying because they repeat things 5 - 10. I like music that has some variety in it such as, phish, grateful dead, allman brothers, led zeppelin.
It doesn't matter how many albums they sold, it matters of the quality of the music. People like AC/DC because of the mindless screaming guitar, the loud yelling voice. Most people just like to hear noise, but they don't pay attention to the actual music.
They did rock throughout the 70's whaen they had Bon Scott as a lead singer, but he died in 1980, I think their first few years with Brian Johnson after that were okay, but after thart it started to get repetitive, although I did like their new single "Rock N' Roll Train".
One of the greatest thing I like about AC/DC is that over half of their songs are about getting laid, dude! Plus, the sound awesome. Sure, they've had their up's and down's especially when Bon Scott (R.I.P) died but they rode on throught it and are still making good music, it may not be as good as the earlier days, but it's still awesome.
let me clarify this to all the AC/DC haters. AC/DC is my favorite band of all time. Being able to play since 1971, going through 3 lead singers (Dave Evans, the late Bon Scott, and current Brian Johnson.) They have technically released over more than 20 albums worldwide (including Australian albums and some versions of releases in certain European countries.) They may have certain songs only in Australia and the UK, but that doesn't matter. Also, they have one of the greatest rhythm sections in all of rock n' roll, consisting of Cliff Williams (bass), Malcolm Young (rhythm guitar), and Phil Rudd (drums) and although they have the same drum beat, at least they have a rhythm section that can hold the songs together. Keep in mind they have been around for 37 years since the Australian release of High Voltage, which is one of the longest careers other than the Rolling Stones. well, if you're an AC/DC hater, and you read this, don't bother replying, cause i just owned you with all the logic that i had in my head. So Anyways...
