I get my merits by doing fancy words and a long post. For example:
~~~~~~~~~~~~(Game name)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I think (Game name) is pretty good. There are some ups and down....Ect ~~~~~~~~~~~~Graphics~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (Talk about graphics, what you liked and didn't like) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Music~~~~~~~~~~~~ (If there was no music, say thy need music! ) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Controls~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (Are the controls hard to remember? Cleverly designed?) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Gameplay~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What did you enjoy about the game? (This should be the longest one)
~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~Overall~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~ What rating did you give this game?
I take one of those schematic set-ups for merit writing, and base a text off of them. Meaning, not starting each section off with writing 'Graphics', 'Sound', etc... I try to cover every aspect I find relevant for the game I'm reviewing, and stick to giving constructive criticism, not just liked this/disliked that things. Suggestions.
I've only done that twice, and one of those times it was on an old game (that I assume haven't been checked by a mod since then), but the other gave me a merit... I don't write for the merits anyway...
Being original is key... I wouldn't advise going around using the same format. Maybe the same topics, but not format. I haven't gotten a merit yet, but I'm sure with writing a paragraph or more should do the trick!
I lost it but somehow someone managed to copy it and posted in his/her abut.
:A merit needs to be well written and needs to explain in detail what you think about it.I suggest to do the following for a good merit comment. Fill the ones below whit at least 3 sentences for a good length.
NOTE:Just fill the ones you want.
Game Play: Music: Controls: Graphics: Difficulty: Tips: Good/Bad Points: Overall: Also use almost perfect grammar and use really neat words.
