I wonder what you would feel like, if you were denied being married to the one you love. Especially being a christian. I think many protested against prop 8, but hoped it would get through the election, so that they would be able to marry. Silently hoping. And prop 4 and prop 8 is nothing similar. Like Zootsuit_riot said, the christians were not being denied any rights, and it is a choice weither or not one should have an abortion (is it not what prop 4 was about?).

Wow. This coming from someone who posted numerous nasty things about Obama after the election because you and some other people got really pissy when he won.
Ignorance, prejudice, and hatred. That's all that prop 8 was. You trying being discriminated against, being denied basic civil rights, and being treated differently. The only thing that won that day was ignorance. Everyone lost that day because we as country took a step back in civil rights. That's pathetic because we are supposed to more forward towards equality not backwards toward prejudice.
Sore losers? Absolutely not and to even say that is insulting. A entire group of people were just legally discriminated against and forced into the back of the proverbial bus. It's called mourning and sadness and anger for being treated like dirt.

They aren't just sore losers. They protested before the election too... But of course they continue now that it has become what it is... Maybe some people thought it wouldn't come to this, and got extra frustrated, so hurried out to protest more...

To be blunt, I don't think you know what you are talking about at all. You say you live in California? Well then where the heck have you been? People have been protesting proposition 8 for months and months. I don't know how you missed it, but to say that people have not been actively protesting 8 is completely false.

Prop 4 is completely different and has nothing to do with Christianity. Proposition 4 was just a horrible idea. The fact is, if women do not have access to abortions, they will do it themselves in an unsafe and unhealthy way. In countries where abortion is outlawed, the amount of women that die in self attempted abortions increases dramatically. This would not get parents involved. If the child does not want to tell her parents, she won't. She just won't do it in a safe way.

Please post all further comments on the subject in one of them. This forum is getting completely flooded with Obama and Prop 8 threads. All further threads, including this one, that are made on these subjects will be locked.
