Choose a class you like/might like to play. When you start you'll be in a town. Find the big building (usually in the back) where you can save, checks stats, get missions and take over the town. Just do missions until you have maybe 50-75k cash.
Then explore all the towns in your region and browse the weapon shops. Find the best weapon of all the towns and buy 6-10 of them, and buy 1 armor/helmet. After that go to the place where you can upgrade your weapons (usually near the shop) and put in the weapon you got. Upgrade your weapons as high as you want/can (add a rune if you want). Upgrading can and will fail and you lose your weapon. (That's why you buy 6-10 , but you may succeed on the first try). And adding a rune to a weapon is 100%.
After doing this, you should be able to fight enemies with ease (buy potions as a back up). Also you shouldn't need any troops.

well when i buy the strongest weapons and armor i have to have like 99 str and 95 dex or something like that and it gets to be a grind after awhile i just wanted to know an easier way to shorten this process

Well, I would just walk around and wait for some thugs or whatever to intercept you. This will get your stats up the easy way!

I forgot about that... lol. Buy what you can use until you have the requirements for the best equiment.
