The topic here pretty much sums up what this is about. Has anyone here seen a play or musical recently? Or, if this applies, has anyone participated in one?

The Producers just came to maine and it was great! It is a must see both live and the movie. I also saw the touring cast of Wicked last year.

My girlfriend recently was offered a part in a local production of Yeston's Phantom of the Opera, but she had to turn it down.

The Producers is fantastic. I've seen the newer movie, but I want to see the original.

Another great one to see is Spamalot: it's based off Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Eric Idle was one of the writers for the musical. Absolutely hilarious.

I saw "Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?" and it was hillarious.

My favourites are:

1. Tommy is an amazing story, this concept album was released by legendary British rockers The Who in 1969!

2. Avenue Q is one of the funniest musicals ever produced, and is even better so for it's tackling of real-life issues, such as pornography, homosexuality, racism, and alot more in the fun-filled, puppet inhabited environment of Avenue Q!

3. Jesus Christ Superstar is a great one as well, I know I've said before that I'm not a religious person, but I can't help loving this almost completely possible string of events laid out by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber into catchy songs and what can sometimes be interpreted as pounding religious rock anthems! I believe that if someone were to rewrite the Bible, they should include this in there, just for good measure.
