As we celebrate the end of WWI, we also remember those who have served in our armed forces and remember their service today.

I don't think that this day is a happy matter. People gave their lives to make the world a more peaceful place to live. I don't think its appropriate to place the word "happy" before Veterans day.
Well, I think it should be. We should be happy that there are brave men and women out there fighting to keep us safe. And we only have one day to recognize them...

Ya I agree. You can be happy for the honor and service that the men and women have given us to protect our country. There are people we can and should mourn for, but we can also celebrate the things they have given us.

Uh, Drace I'm pretty sure this day is not ment for you to celebrate your one day off. It's to remember the fallen and pray for the ones overseas...not for your recreational needs. If it makes any difference I didn't get off school.

I'm glad for the day off haha.

And I'll bet yall haven't actually sat down and thanked the veterans. I bet most of everybody mostly loved the day off. To be honest, I was looking forward for a day off, not really thinking about our veterans.

Don't get me wrong. I highly respect every person who had anything to do with that war, and I thank them for that. But every kind of thought on this day can be rationed.

I really like Veterans Day. and yes Estel, i did thank many WWII veterans. i am in the West Monroe Rebel Band, and our show this year is about WWII, and honoring the fallen veterans and those still alive.

we went to a veterans memorial and played this entire show for the veterans, and i got to sit and talk with some of them afterwards. i thanked them for all they did for this country, to protect our rights and freedoms. this is a day to respect all of those people, not just a day out of school. i didn't even get a day out

You may be one of the few kareybh. I bet most of everybody that had a day off just chilled at home or with friends and never really thought seriously about it.

Proud to say I've served.
