Actually alot of people like skaters. What people hate are POSERS! They dress like skaters and are totall doosches. Then no one other then skaters can tell the diffrence.

This is totally true, they give skaters a bad reputation by being punks. Posers are people who think they are good at skateboarding, but they can't even do an ollie.
I used to skateboard a lot, I still do some but I would rather snowboard, only problem is that it's hard to snowboard on concrete and it can break your snowboard, so I sometimes snowskate with my old boards.
