These suggestions are modified version of limited word comments.

Simple Suggestion

This is quite a simple suggestion and can stop a minority of the spam all over the place.

Ok you always see some people posting blank words as their comments. Also, comments that are wayyyyyy too long it turn out blanks. So what if their was a message if you posted a blank comment and stopped your from posting nothing. Also it can give yo ua message when your post is too long and will turn out blank.

Extended

Here is an extended version, if this won't work, then it will just be the idea right above.

Ok so if you posted a comment less than 7 words it will give you a warning and will tell you to review the Rules & Guidelines before posting.

Yeah but you swear a lot of people can type of sentence of more than 7 words? It should be a little less at least like 5 words cause if your stopping by just to say hello or something you would have to say "Hello how are you today do you like the weather?" that's multiple subjects so it should be at least 5 words.

I don't think this will work very well. Some on will just type "ok ok ok ok ok ok ok" instead of plain old "ok."
As for the message telling them to check the rules and guidelines, I think if they are spamming they will do it anyways.

-Ok, just for the record, grammar errors bug me. So please make the extra effort and re-read your text to fix any errors.
-Well I would like the idea to not be able to post until the criteria is met: 7 words.
So like shin said:

&quotost reply" button translucent, until that user posts of a certain number of words. It doesn't have to be the number of words either.

Ok first of all it will tell you review the guidelines, some people may ignore them, but I know there are good people out there who don't even know where the link to the rules are!

If it blocks the short posts completely that would be bad. As theone99 said, people would get past it, and I agree with Strop. But that tells me that people like strop *cough* sometimes don't post longer comments for whatever reason would get tired of getting a pop-up telling you to review the guidelines. I guess the pop-up saying that you should review the guidelines should have the "Do not show me this message again" option.

And there's always the simpler suggestion which has to harm in it.

This isn't really going to stop spam, it is better for the mods to decide on which or maybe another idea like this person's (below).

Shinetsua asked for an invisible button that appeared when you posted 7 or more words. After you post 7 or more the button appears. I like Shins idea better.

That would actually be a good idea, but here is my improvement to that, a word cannot be repeated more than 3 times in the first seven words(i.e. how how how is it going going? or i am i am i am i, you get the point). Combining those two would lower spam by an estimated 30%, maybe even more.

This would just make people write longer spam.

if you read my post that was right before yours, if someone repeats a word 3 times in the first seven i am i am i am am <--then the button doesn't show up.

@smallwreck, this is true but there is a reason there are mods too.
