The Xbox is a very good console with amazing online play. Also, you can get one new for 129.99 now so its alot cheaper than the PS3. The ps3 is much more expensive because of its Blu-ray and the online play is free. With this being free almost all PS3 owners are online. at the moment i would choose the Xbox
XD. I was expecting this thread to be all for Xbox 360... But i guess this website isn't run with xbox nerds. Um its actually a hard choice. I have a ps3, and have been a playstation fan for quite a while, so obviously i will say ps3. But lets just hold up. Ill try to tell you some good, and bad things on both systems since you wanna know which one to buy. Ill try to help ya.
PS3: You get a blu ray player as well... Lets just say thats a number one on my list. They cost between 400-2000 bucks these days, and your getting a high quality game system as well with it, for a measly 500$. It also has almost the exact same great games as xbox 360 (excluding halo 3 and gow 2). The controller functions are pretty amazing, since they have motion sensors, and when in a fPS u can just push the controller outwards and your guy will melee attack. As well you can use the controller as a steering wheel in Racing games. The graphics are the best out there at the moment. Xbox 360 doesn't come close when you have a high def 1080i supported tv... (Even 780 is great, my t.v handles both.... now there is a BIG diff between 780 and 1080, even then 780 is 10X btr than xbox's graphics.) The new trophy system is exactly like the xbox achievements.... so yeaaa. Now for the bad of the ps3: The online doesn't have as many people as Xbox, due to it not being out as long, and the high cost of a ps3. This can put a poor turnout when looking for ppl on rock band 2 or GHWT. But if you have enough friends that are good at these games theres no worries (like me). Although the online does frequently have problems and you get disconnected from it when in the middle of games a cpl times a month. This gets quite annoying.
The xbox: Has some good games that the ps3 doesn't (listed above). The controllers are amazing, due to the factthat they sit perfectly in your hands, and some even have fans!!!! XD. The achievements were first brought into consoles by them, and it worked effeciently... The online is amazing but it costs 50$ a month. The Xbox itself costs about 150$ now. Which is pretty cheap considering how good it is. The bad: The ring of death. It happened to my friend 3 times just this year. Which means he was out of a game console for three months. He did get a new one each time too, which just shows how crappy the xbox was built. Don't wanna lose your game console for a month due to the ring of death? dont get and xbox. The online costs 50$ a year. Microsoft itself is losing loads of money for each xbox sold. They are trying to stay in the market, and compete with the ps3 and the wii. XD kinda sucks for them. Finally, the new Xbox 360 update. They turned the Xbox into a wii. Not even joking. They copied the mii thing, and changed pretty much everything up into a crappier model. Im sry but I lost respect for the Xbox after I heard of this. So yea. There you go. Good and bad concpets of both systems. Hope it helps ya

The graphics are about the same on my HD T.V. I have both consoles and I love them both, but sometimes I love one more than another because the different games, they need to make a converter, so you can play exlusive 360 and PS3 games for both consoles D:
@LODwardevil Uhhh yea thats one game... If Left 4 Dead doesn't come out for ps3 your right about the btr games thing. Cuz at the moment ps3 does have Resistance 2. That game is amazing, and i would have to say it is almost, if not as good as GOW2
