First off, slipknot has NOT made bad music. Sure, some of their music does not appeal to certain listeners, but their music has never been bad. Also, as a personel consumer of the article in quiston, i would have to say that it is one of the best ones. The best is sublimenal versus. But again, that is my opinion.
Slipknot is a band that is very versatile in my opinion, his latest album is the more I liked ... Maybe they think that because there are more slow songs, but do not stop being good
I agree with nickelbacksucks. Every album by Slipknot is their worst album ever. Not only do they rely on their masks to gain fanbase, but now they also rely on Guitar Hero. Why can't Corey Taylor go back to Stone Sour, a much better band.
1) "All Hope Is Gone"/Slipknot in general can not be divided into 'good' or 'bad,' seeing as the quality of any music is largely determined on a person-to-person basis. No one has the same musical tastes.
2) "All Hope Is Gone" (You know...the latest Slipknot album) really should not be compared to the other 3 (actually 4) albums that have come out. If you listen to all of the albums from beggining to end, back to back, one will notice a steady change in the musical style. Which is perfectly fine. Each album in general should be judged on it's own, not compared to others that came out before or after. Music is an ever changing creature.
3)....Slipknot is older than Stonesour. By a good few years. So in all truth, it is more like he is going back to Slipknot.
I do agree that no particular album of one band should be judged against the rest of the band's discography because most bands go through some change or else they wouldn't really stay that successful. However, Stone Sour did form before Slipknot. Stone Sour formed in the early 90s around like 1992. It was when they went on a hiatus that Taylor and I think someone else went and became Slipknot. This was around 1997 I think. I could be wrong, but I don't think I am.
Sorry for the double post, but I just did some brief research and found that Slipknot and Stone Sour both started in 1992. So I guess it depends on your definition of forming is. Stone Sour releases some demos in 1992 while Slipknot didn't actually release anything until 1995, but they were partially together in 1992.
