Whyyy! Whyyyy! Why oh why do we have these. They ruin the entire team the freelance artist has worked so hard to make... plus it gives a chance for way more people to have the elusive no-armartar armartar which ruins it... I know it's nice to see some user created content but do we have to? Comon!

And what's with the armartars at 3,750 AP, did we suddenly have a change of artists? What happened there! O_o

Yes, we have a new armatar artist, which is why the new style is a little different.

And the holiday armatars are only around for a few weeks. So if you don't like them, they will be gone soon! But sorry, on this one you are pretty outnumbered. A lot of people really like being able to make their own, and choose new user made armatars.

Yes but soon it will be Christmas. I am fine with a little spirited custom armartars they are fun sometimes but first it was Halloween and it went straight to thanksgiving, then it will be Christmas so they will be infact always there!

Haha I'd imagine so.

But I won't lie when I saw your hand turkey I was soon converted to a lover of it. It's the cutest darn thing I have ever seen. But I still think the custom armartars should be used sparingly and not at every single holiday!

True, this time of the year is going to be pretty filled with them. But, there are still a few weeks in between. We only have them for at the most, a week before and after the holiday. And as far as the rest of the year goes, there aren't a whole lot of big holidays to make them for.

I know right? lol. I remember making these back in elementary school. And these won't be used for every holiday, just the big ones. This time of year just has a lot of them! And we will try to have them only for the bigger holidays that apply to multiple countries. I know Thanksgiving is big in America, and there are other countries that partake in the celebration as well. Which is why we are doing it for Thanksgiving. But for things like the 4th of July and President's Day, well that only really applies to America. So we probably wouldn't do anything for those.

If we are sensible about our holiday pickings should be ok, except for this time of year but that's only like 3 months. And yes the turkey is the greatest thing ever, my childhood was plentiful. Something we gave them pilgrim hats! :]

Yea. If you think about it, the rest of the year there are going to be very few holidays for armatars. So enjoy it, or not, for the time being. But the 'holiday season' only lasts for so long.

So what ARE the big holidays around the world? I know what is big over here, and some of them that have overlap. But I don't know about all of them. So what holiday additions do you guys want to see in the future? What are the holidays that are celebrated most around the world?

We have a good bunch in Denmark in the spring, but the major one would have to be easter. I cannot recall other major ones (when not counting "Fastelavn", the happy counterpart for halloween). Oh, and ... Midsummer Eve (Sankt Hans Aften:P) in the summer.

Valentines Day? Though I dread the armatars that may bring...

But as opposed to Christmas, there is the Midsummer Eve as Cenere mentioned~ Can't really think of anymore than those two and Easter. Not any big ones, anyway.

It could be fun with Fastelavn, though. Even though it is a Scandinavic event. Lots of day for praying, oh, and ... No word found... Hellig Tre Kongers Aften? It is the 6th of January??

Can't we find some that aren't related to Christianity today? Fastelavn started as something else, I think, but... No, I'm not sure...

That is what I was thinking... it is probably not a good idea to celebrate holidays that are celebrated by one religion. I see Christmas time as sort of an exception to this though. Many nationalities and religions celebrate Christmas, or some form of it. These days it seems to be most about family and sharing.

Perhaps we an do some general holiday themes? Like when spring comes along, we can have some spring themed armatars.

Christmas is a total ripoff by Christianity from old viking traditions, and is kind of just a solstice thing... Celebrating the light in the darkness, at the darkest time of year.
I'm so gonna draw a mead horn for the Christmas armatars.
So yeah, that one is not just Christian, and the commercialized is definitely even less related to one religion...
Christmas in Denmark isn't even named after Christ. We call it Jul, derived from the old solstice thing.

But when and for how long, then? I like the idea, it's just the timing~

It would be when spring officially starts, I know they have specific dates for these things... the only thing is that depending on where you are in the world, the season might not apply to you. But if we did this, it would be for a few weeks around the official start of spring.

Problem is Christianity did a good job of wiping out all holidays. When placing holidays they made sure it was on top of other holidays like pagan ones to really blow them out of the water haha. Plus they are the most well known.
