Super Mario 64 really was the granddaddy of all 3d platformers. But Ocarina of time really was a bit more epic than Super Mario 64 and more innovative. So I guess it deserves the title of best game ever.

Sm64 has a place in my heart right next to halo, super mario sunshine (gasp), and, of course, mario kart 64.
I'm a big n64 fan.

Super Mario 64 is way more exciting than LOZ:Ocarina of time though each LOZ game has a better story but ill go with SM64.

Ocarina was great epicwise but the gameplay was not so hot. You couldn't jump.

Your title is big as hell.

But, I'd say HL[2] is about 8/10, and paired with Gary's Mod, it gets a solid 10/10. Infinitely replay-able, and tons of fun. It's like a long, interactive movie. Add Gary's Mod to the mix, and you have the ability to customize scenarios or just experiment with an arsenal of items. Gary's Mod also ties Portal into HL2, allowing you to use the portal gun to trap or fool enemies, or fight in Portal levels.

blackrabbit, actually, they edited sm64 ds by adding and taking away levels and junking it up with minigames and new characters, i prefer the first version.
