My grandfather and I were discussing this today over the phone. We were throwing ideas back and forth to improve America's oil crisis. So I would like to know Armor Gamer's opinions.
Personally I think we should drill off the coast and in Alaska but keep the most extreme and tight regulations. Once we make the profits from there, then go and use the money to help research alternative fuel. I know this idea would take some time but it is a suggestion.
Well we are kinda running against the clock for our oil and prices. Say we need to build 5 rigs, thats 5 damns, re routing water and species, makeing specialized pipes and all that.
yea well its not gonna happen, because our pres is liberal. they arent gonna drill.... we need to find other sources of energy, and thats what they are gonna do.
That's still completely unrealistic. You do realize that we already have thousands of offshore rigs, and that they do perfectly fine without draining water?

IMHO, we have to be smart about this. The oil in Alaska isn't going to make enough of a dent in our national thirst for petroleum. We need to invest in research for alternative fuels and other forms of motive force, and start moving towards them. We may have to drill to help get us there, but we cannot rely on any one source of energy to keep us going forever.
