It is a new Ds. I thought nintendo would stop with making new Ds's but I guess not. It is basically a thinner lighter version do the old one I should say. Features a built-in Web browser, larger screen, and two integrated cameras, and more.
I think I want one but I never really played my ds much but thi on looks way cool. I am probly going to sell my old one and get the new one
What is seriously the point of having something smaller and smaller every generation? I bet you the DSi is going to be more defective than the lite already is. At least the DS Reg is strong and durable. Oh wait. More light! That's the only thing that the DS lite has that's better than the regular, if you like to go blind. I managed to get a regular before they started to quit producing them and at the same time as my cousin bought the Lite. We've had the two different systems for the same amount of time; both of his hinges are broken off, so the top flap moves autonomously, while mine stay durable and strong. So lemme get this straight:
DS Reg -- * Durable * Dimmer * Bigger
DS Lite-- * Flimsier * Brighter * Smaller
As far as I'm concerned, flimsier, brighter, and smaller are all cons to the Lite, while being bulky, strong, and dimmer (while still having a back light) are all pros, on the contrary. So I pity all you DS gamers that didn't have the golen opportunity to grab a DS in it's infant stage, because you just got the bad deal, and are getting an even worse deal if you switch the DS Lite to the DSi. If I were you, I would go somewhere like Amazon.com, Ebay, or something to get a DS Reg, so you can have an almost guaranteed chance of a long-lasting game system.
I have a PSP which is much better, it already has a bigger screen, internet for buying from the Playstation Network, no camera but you can put photos on it, and it can play music and movies. So I won't be buying this but if I had an old DS instead of a PSP then I would probably get it, but no GBA slot may make me keep my old one if I had one(nice little 'what if' scenario).
I'm guessing none of you are looking at my opinion on page 2 that's true in every bit? If you want a broken $200 machine, be my guest. It's just the same system with "extra fancy crap" that I could do with a camera. You use the camera for taking pictures, you use the DS for playing DS games, why need 2 for 1 that's so flimsy you could sit on it and brake it?
What?!?!?! they are getting rid of the GBA slot? I love my GBA games some of the older Zeldas and Sonics. Man I am sticking with my original DS. Though I have been thinking about getting the PSP.
The page for the DSi says the battery life is reduced compared to its predecesor. Which I guess makes sense because the older ones are bigger they can have bigger batteries. I would love it if the made the original smaller. Like keep it that way just make it so its not so bulky.
I will only get one if it has games that come out only for it. Otherwise, it is just a scheme for Nintendo to get more money, and my DS bulky (lol) works excellent for me. Really, why waste money on a lame camera, and bad internet when I already have those.
