Why do you think this needs to be locked? It invites to a perfectly valid hypothetical discussion, does it not?

I don't think we would consider it cold and scary if we were used to living there. It's all a matter of habit.
But it would probably be problematic if we were to from today's society to an underwater one...

First of all, we would have to adapt to breathing underwater, either being able to stay underwater a long time or developing gills.
