If you were to pack down your most priced possessions, the things you really want to have in your life, and you only had one ordinary backpack to put those things in, what would you pack?
What are the items you do not want to be without?

________________

Me, I would pack my laptop, the chargers, my tablet, the most important papers I have (a few drawings, receipts that needs to be kept and such, not many), an extra set of clothing besides the one I'd be wearing, my sketchbook, a pen, a pencil, an eraser, a sharp knife (more useful than a normal pencil sharpener), toothbrush and toothpaste, hairbrush, a USB-key, a deodorant, a single toy, a handful of die, and my old favorite plushy because of the memories.
And it does all fit into my backpack.

Besides that, normal clothing to wear, a jacket, my cell phone and my wallet... But that doesn't go in the backpack.

So... What is the important things for you?

That minus the deodorant, plus a razor and a whetstone.

Also no plushies or toys or paper, but a first-aid kit and metal flask, my various ID and passport. I'd hang a pan on the outside.

If I took a laptop I would be sure to bring the charger! :P I'd also take my (as of yet not used) iRiver.

Also several changes of underwear and socks. If you get the right ones they take up no space at all!

Estimated total weight: 10kg. I'd need a decent backpack but that's easy enough to carry.

Heh, the various ID and such included in my paper works. :P
Oh, it could be fun to know enough people around the world to travel with just that stuff... Blankets, towels, beds, that's all stuff that can be borrowed. Cooking tools are useful, but it's something that is very easy to replace, and as long as you are on the move, they serve little purpose - since this is not meant as 'what would you bring with you to survive'.
But your response is a good one, Strop. :3

My small chest containing all my money, a flashlight, a notebook, a pack of pencils, my med pills, a deck of yu-gi-oh cards (I managed to make a pretty penny with my last deck), my small pencil sharpener, a water bottle. . . .umm, extra set of batteries for the flashlight, and a sleeping bag.

Getting interesting results here...
But don't worry so much about replaceable supplies, this is more which items you really want to keep or have with you - sure food is nice, but it's easily eaten and replaced.

Let's get some more posts, I am teh curious. :3

Well when I go travelling I take a 70 litre backpack but if it was just a normal everyday one then it'd have to be;

Ipod, Phone, Wallet, Journal (for travelling), DSLR, Aviators, Toothbrush & toothpaste, 2 litre platypus, Flannel, 2 Bungie Cords (They always come in useful somehow) and if possible my laptop and charger.

And finally, I'd be carrying a rugby ball.

Sure that could be narrowed down but thats me.

Hmm, two options here:
Laptop, tablet, cell phone, all that. Like Zophia and Strop said.

And the traveler in me:
Clothes, a blanket, paper and pencil, my pocket knife and money/personal papers. A stuffed toy I am rather attached to... I think that would be all, actually....
