Yea i hate metallica personally, but i know alot of people like them so thats okay, and Zootsuit lol, nice comment, foo fighters are actually pretty decent. Shinigamivladutz, i hate all those bands except one song from three days grace (pain) and popa roach. And pauler nice your lil bro has a band i have a band too.
The Who were brilliant live and still are. in their hay day they had the best drummer, best bassist, best writer, best front man. They were original, rock opera etc. Keith Moon has entered into popular culture as THE drummer. ( ask a novice in the street to decribe a stereotypical drummer and it will be Moon) Hendrix, The Doors and AC/DC close behind.
Yea, Jimi Hendrix's Drummer died though a couple of weeks ago in his apartment, so there is no living Hendrix groupies anymore. The Who were really good, but the more i listen to them, the more i think there better live then listining to them on my iPod or my Itunes. I would pay alot of money to see Jimi Hendrix/ The who in concert.
For me Yellowcard was the best band ever because i like how they mixed all their songs with the violin and they were all really good while no band has ever dared to use a violin in their songs yellowcard did which made me impressed on how a violin can make a song so good!
Led Zeppelin - Probably one of the most oft-quoted choices, but I genuinely think they are the greatest, not only for their most popular songs like "Whole Lotta Love" and "Stairway to Heaven", but for there ability to make a traditional folk-song into an upbeat acoustic rocker, as demonstrated in "Gallows Pole". All members deserve credit for what this great band achieved, Robert Plant for his tremendous vocals and lyrical masterpieces, Jimmy Page for his soulful dexterity with the guitar, banjo and a whole crapload of other instruments he played on Led Zeppelin's recordings, John Bonham, god bless his soul, for his ability to make the most powerful drum beat on even the simplest kits, and let's not forget John Paul Jones, formerly a veteran of session studio recordings, for strong bass, mandolin, and keyboards!
My other choices would come down to Van Halen and Eagles.
