Moslty its better to make a new one, search for a newer one (in other subs or via the search inb the top right) or ask a mod (on his page).
To aks your question:
most likely you see a guest from disqus... maybe a similar armatar from a previous season.
Here on AG you cant upload custom armatars, you have to use one from the roster.
If you want ot take a look at the roster: hover over your nick in the top black bar, a menu appears, click on "Armatars". If you want to change your armatar (if you want), click on the dot under a armatar, dont forget to scroll down and click on "Update Armatar" (there is maybe a delay before the new one shown up... caching thingy).
There is still a way to get your own work on the page, participate in one of our armatar-contests. Of course the entrys must be appropriate and fit to the theme of the contest (check ine AMW-sub)
All acceptable entrys are choosable for a limited time after the contest. Users who choose one of them hold the choosen one as long as they not change it, after a change they cant get it again (if its not in the roster again).
