Nobody can decide when the week starts. I say it is a Sunday. You say when you think it starts and if you want to, why you think it starts on that day.
nonconformist, did you mean to say - for christians it starts on sunday? because then you said "French are the only ppl who think it stars on monday..."
In Jewish and Christian tradition, the first day of the seven day week is Sunday. According to the Bible, God created the Earth in six days, and rested on the seventh day, the Sabbath, i.e. Saturday. This made Sunday the first day of the week, while Saturdays were sanctified for celebration and rest. After the week was adopted in Early Christian Europe, Sunday remained the first day of the week, but also gradually displaced Saturday as the day of celebration and rest, being considered the Lord's Day.
In English language countries the week may begin on either Sunday or Monday. Most business and social calendars in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Australia mark Sunday as the first day of the week, though in South Africa and South America, Monday is considered the first day of the working week.
ima go to target because capitalist society allows target near me to buy capitalist tasty foods that communists cant buy, then i come home and play capitalist computer with capitalist creativity and capitalist evil which communists dont have.
I don't get a say when my week starts. The hospital declares that my week starts on a Monday, and ends on a Friday. What I do in those other days is my own business but if God forbid I turn up to hospital on a weekend- that's a travesty to student life.
But I agree with Cenere. I only start not being stupid in front of consultants on Wednesday.
