In the US, I haven't heard about a contamination of pigs, but every once in a while, beef gets the red light.

What, uhm... What are they contaminated by? Some disease, or something else?

They are not contaminated over here (U.S) but I'm pretty sure we have testing going on behind doors right now for a cnotamination.

That sucks :P

I LOVE pork, but it's not like an addiction or anything *scratches neck rapidly*.

Now steak....oh my that is a flat out addiction.

Anyways, as for the contamination, as far as i know there is none over here (the U.S.) :P.

I usually eat non-pork meats ever since I saw a pig getting chain-sawed at the 99 Ranch market (asian supermarket).

I never really liked eating pork again.

Haha....yeah...that seem's to happen to the people who work at the factory's. All of MOST of them stop eating meat after that....You know seeing all the pig's and other animals slughterd, the blood, mess everywhere...It sure makes them become fegitearins...

I don't eat pork because of the fact that you have to cook it at 400 degrees for at least an hour to kill MOST of the harmful bacteria. You can never fully kill the bacteria in pigs. You can in other animals, but since pigs are the garbage disposals of the world, it's impossible.

What does not kill you makes you stronger. I just ate a couple jr. bacon cheeseburgers from Wendys and I'm content.

Isn't that a slight bit ignorant? Pigs aren't generally fed garbage... I would like to see some documentation for your claim, because I honestly don't believe it.

fegitearins
... Vegetarians?

I think it's annoying when people decide they no longer can enjoy the taste of something because they realize how it was processed... Oh blissful ignorance... "If I don't know how this was made, it doesn't make me feel sick."

Sorry for being slightly off topic.

Pigs you find in your supermarket in the US are grain fed per regulation. You are at no more risk eating pork than chicken. Historically though, yes, they are filthy.

Am I alone in thinking this post was going to be political in nature when I first read the headline? Something like "Dirty capitalist pigs contaminated with their free-market economy nonsense."

Too bad, Carnivores. Maybe this is because of terrible the animals are treated at the factory farms, or because of all the hormones and additives they've been given.

I'm not saying they ARE fed garbage, but that's really their purpose. We really shouldn't be eating pigs. It's the most unhealthy meat on the market these days. And no, it IS safer to consume chicken than pork. Chickens and beef cattle don't carry the same types of harmful bacteria as pigs do.
