I've been looking at the McAfee SiteAdviser and I checked this site on it because it was analyzed and many people reported it as red
here's the stats
This site is good (45) Green Adware, spyware, or viruses (13) Red Browser exploit (1) Red Excessive popups (11) Red Phishing or other scams (6) Red Bad shopping experience (1) Red
if this keeps up they gonna rate the site red and its gonna be blocked if you have McAfee installed
I think the Mod and Admin should read the 9 pages and do something about it because I don't want the site to be red or blocked, I know its safe 100% and I did use to get lots of pop ups but not anymore
If you read through all the comments, you'll see that most of them are in regards of some sites that some of the ads link to, and pop-ups... And that it used to be rated red. So I guess they've improved. But maybe it would be good to get some other advertisers...?
It is mostly just referring to the pop-ups. But in my experience, most of the people who experience extra pop-ups (there is only one from us that comes up when you come on the site) or think that they got a virus, are getting them from other sites. I have had people complaining about pop-ups on our site and inappropriate advertisements, but viruses that you get from elsewhere can replace the ads on the sites that you go to and act to generate pop-up ads. So I always recommend that if that is happening, you should do a virus scan. Every time it has been a virus that they got elsewhere that affected their browser, unrelated to AG.
About those viruses, Smoothwall does a great job of doing that. None of that is coming from here, that's for sure. How and where would these viruses come from? It would be from the other sites that are advertising from here, but not to the actual site in general.
If I were you guys, I'd tell them about this "roblem" and tell them its not AG, to take out the confusion.
I don't even get that many pop ups. I only get one, and that's when I log in and go to my profile. If I stay online, it doesn't even effect me the next time I get on AG.
Well, there are ads like this that people deem inappropriate, which is either just to be a complainer, or they might really be concerned. Most often it is the first option.
Here is something someone might question (which I didn't have to look long for):
Sometimes it's understandable, but sometimes it's probably just because they want attention.
Did anyone watch that old Simpsons episode where Flanders goes back through a bunch of old recorded tapes and writes down what is inappropriate in each one?
