There are three beliefs that get mixed up a lot. Universalism, Unitarianism, and Unitarian Universalism. They are pretty distinct from each other. So this is a short, barebones run-down.
Universalism - A belief that all people are created by God and will all be reunited with God. It pretty much accepts all religious faiths as valid and that everyone will make it to heaven.
Unitarian Universalism - Believes in the "free and responsible search for truth and meaning." It's more of a "find your own truth" religion. It has wildly different beliefs from church to church.
Unitarianism - Completely different from the other two. Unitarianism is a branch of Christianity that rejects the Trinity.
