Alright America, Just because some tibeten people like the whopper better means nothing. Their opinin is meaningless, because no one is setting up McDonalds or Wendys in Tibet. Let's have a real poll, with educated burger connosiurs making the decision. The ultimate question: Which tastes better, the whopper, or the big mac?
The First Post: It's titled the Whopper Virgins because it's humorous. BK commercials have always been on the funny comedic side, while McDs is the "art of your life since 19 so-and-so". And yes, it DOES matter in the true taste of the Whopper and the Big Mac. Their taste buds have not been contaminated like ours have been. As well as the revenue gain. Many people out there are suckers and if something can be done, is supposedly done, and is not opposed, they will believe it.
Step 1. Silly Ad Step 3. Profit
In this case, you CAN get Whopper "Virgins" (not in usually used sex term), they showed footage and no one is taking a jab at it's fallacies. Profit.
In a less serious note. Big Mac is out of date. Angus representing for McDs now. But I can't judge. As many times I've passed by BK, I never once at a Whopper. Norlly. Fosrsly.
Well, In-N-Out completely butchers all other fast food burgers, just to clarify. I do not eat at McDonald's, and I most likely will never eat a Whopper. But my dislike for McDonald's is much greater, so I would only say the Whopper is better because of that. I am not about to put a McDonald's sandwich in my mouth, euugh.
But this is all just some crazy publicity stunt. Yes, it is interesting, but what does it really say about the burgers? They show a few videos of people choosing Whoppers, but they don't actually give the statistics on it. How much did they actually win by? They could have only been ahead by one burger, but they are milking it for all its worth and hiding the details. I just think its sad that they have to bust into these cultures and do this. Sure, the people probably agreed to it. But is just seems bad taste to go in there and disrupt indigenous culture for a publicity stunt.

It seems a like the cliche heartless corporation using people to get what they want, however the people probably benefitted. In a place like Tibet they might not have ever had a chance to eat a whopper or a big mac or indeed even a burger and at the end of the day i doubt many people would say no to free food. Both parties benefit from it, regardless of BK's intentions as a business.
I like the choice of words Carlie. In & Out really does butcher all other burgers.
The commercials are not at all convincing of anything. Having a random foreigner from an underdeveloped part of the world tell me that a whopper is better than a big mac is nothing new, a big mac isn't even made of edible materials so of course they will pick the whopper. They gave them two choices of different tasting plastic... If they gave them a choice between other foods I'm sure they would pick the others.
